Udupi Heritage Inn

If traveling alone, I would suggest staying at a good star hotel. Since I couldn't find one in Udupi and the closest was in Manipal, I booked a homestay. My stay was safe for the day I booked, but the next evening, when I returned to collect my luggage, I had an uncomfortable experience with a group claiming to be from Hyderabad. Suddenly, they started focusing on me, asking about my life, work, and reasons for traveling. They exaggerated my solo travel as bravery, but after a tiring day, dealing with their unwanted attention was triggering. Their lack of social awareness showed in their questions and reactions. With only the caretakers around, I felt compelled to engage in conversation with them.

The rooms are outstanding.

It was a good stay, really friendly and helpful staff, it's comfortable and nearby by the main places but needs a little bit maintaince on fan as it continues to make sound and the room gets a lot of moisture too, otherwise great stay.

Rooms smell bad and seem neglected

We enjoyed a comfortable stay as attendees of an event. The cleanliness was fine, but the shower had very weak water pressure - hopefully, this can be improved.
