7 Apple Hotel Guruvayur

We reserved a family suite, but the bed covers were dirty and stained, the AC was leaking and corroded, and the accessories were low quality. The temple is quite far from the hotel, requiring an auto-rickshaw ride. Overall, it felt like poor value for the money spent. It's also unsafe for kids since the balcony doors lack locks.

Our one-night stay was quite disappointing and did not meet the standards we expected for the price. We booked three Large Double Bedrooms via Booking.com. At check-in, the reception staff were friendly and gave us keys for three rooms on the same floor. However, we later found out that only two rooms were Large Double Bedrooms; the third was a Twin Room. When we asked, we were told the hotel only had two Large Double Bedrooms on that floor and had replaced the third with a Deluxe Room without informing us beforehand. The rooms were very dirty: shower heads were rusty, bathrooms had visible mold, and bedsheets and duvet covers had many black stains. Traveling with our 4-month-old baby, we felt uneasy about the hygiene and possible skin irritation. We asked if we could cancel one room and keep two since the rooms didn't justify the cost, but were told it was not possible due to the Booking.com reservation. When we explained the poor condition, the receptionist said we should have checked the rooms before paying, which was unreasonable since the booking was online. We had to wait while other guests checked in before our concerns were addressed. We finally requested a cleaner room for the baby and were moved to Room 603, which seemed better at first but had black stains on the duvet, coffee stains on the bedsheet, and mold on the kitchen wall and bathroom door. We asked for bedding to be changed during the night, but the staff was unhelpful and rude, repeatedly asking if just changing the bedsheet was enough instead of replacing all bedding. We also paid for buffet breakfast, which was disappointing due to limited options and many dishes running out without being refilled. Drinks were only tea, coffee, and a watered-down watermelon juice. The only good part was the friendly reception staff at arrival, but this was overshadowed by poor cleanliness, bad breakfast, and how our concerns were handled. We would not stay here again or recommend it.

The room was large enough for three guests. We stayed in the suite. The lobby and reception area were roomy, and the staff at the front desk were polite. The food was tasty. The price is a bit higher, but that's common for all hotels. To reach Krishna temple, you need to take an auto; walking is possible but difficult during rain, which we experienced. Overall, we are satisfied with this hotel.
