Disappointing Hotel Experience

My stay at Alpine Hotel, Shillong was completely disappointing. I reserved the Suite Room expecting an upgrade, only to discover it lacked air conditioning. Strangely, the cheaper Deluxe Room includes AC, but the pricier Suite does not. This makes no sense. The booking details never clearly stated this. Such a basic facility should be disclosed upfront, not found out after arrival. When I raised this with staff, they refused to take responsibility and argued I should have called ahead because "it's Shillong, people don't need AC." This arrogant reply is unacceptable. Guests shouldn't have to verify amenities that should be accurately listed. This issue isn't about whether Shillong needs AC, but about misleading room info, poor service, and no accountability. Charging more for a Suite with fewer amenities than a Deluxe is ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. If you book here, verify every amenity yourself since the hotel's info can't be trusted.

The location is convenient, but the hotel itself is in poor shape. There is a lack of maintenance, significant wear and tear, and the staff seem untrained in handling issues. It definitely requires a complete renovation. If the owner sees this, please prioritize these improvements. I had a terrible two-day stay last week.
