Hotel New Star

Expérience décevante, service très mauvais, le personnel parle à peine français et n'est pas du tout accueillant. En plus, la sécurité est terrible, ma voiture a été vandalisée la première nuit, ce qui m'a poussé à partir avant la deuxième nuit. Je ne conseillerai cet hôtel à personne.

The reception service was the worst I've experienced. We reserved a room a year ahead, but when we called a few days before to confirm, they told us they couldn't accommodate us due to overbooking and canceled our stay. We had to repeatedly contact both them and booking.com to get a refund, and they didn't respond to booking.com's customer service to inform them about the cancellation either.

The room was tidy and cozy, equipped with air conditioning, and I didn't have any trouble with noise during my visit. The property is made up of multiple buildings. The entrance to my building smelled bad due to a damp and dirty carpet caused by wet shoes during the rain. Since there are no windows or ventilation in the entrance area, the smell stayed. I highly suggest swapping the carpet for wood flooring or another hard surface. The location is about a 30-minute walk from Old Montreal, so it's not very close. Still, the neighborhood has excellent Italian restaurants, a nice park, and a market, making it a nice place to stay. Overall, my experience was good. They offer a parking lot and require a $150 security deposit, which I was not informed about beforehand.

The Newstar hotel is a very poor hotel. The washroom is not cleaned, bed sheets are not changed, everything is very bad 😤😤😤

Hotel Newstar has been my preferred choice whenever I visit Montreal. The service was once outstanding, but sadly, it has declined. On my latest visit, the customer service was quite poor. My room was left uncleaned, and I repeatedly had to request essentials such as towels and soap. Despite asking multiple times, nothing was delivered until I expressed my frustration and insisted strongly. It's disappointing to witness a hotel that used to offer excellent service drop to this standard. I hope the management takes steps to improve because guests merit better treatment and care.
