Hotel Udupi Residency near Shri Krishna Mata, Udupi

The rooms are covered in fungus and have a bad smell due to poor ventilation; booking this hotel would be a very bad choice.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. I had high hopes after reading the Google reviews, but the receptionist named Chaitanya was very rude and impolite to us. Even after showing one ID card for the room booking, she kept asking for ID cards from every family member without any reason, making faces at us. When I asked for her manager's phone number, she shouted and said she didn't have it. For 2560 INR, we got a small non-AC room with no windows or ventilation, and the bathroom was so cramped you could barely turn around. I wondered how they even built it. When I told her I had read negative reviews about the rooms and insisted on speaking to her manager or else I would post a review online, she left. Some other staff members were polite and quickly gave us an AC room with complimentary breakfast. For others booking based on Google reviews, I advise against it. It seems the hotel initially overcharges, then offers discounts when you mention the reviews. Book at your own risk. Also, a sincere suggestion to the manager: please replace your receptionist Chaitanya, or Sri Krishna Residency will lose good customers because of her behavior. The room prices and her attitude make a mockery of your residency, which is a shame for both you and the guests who trusted this place.

Another highlight of the hotel is its helpful and friendly staff. In particular, the receptionists are very polite, respectful, and always willing to help guests whenever required.

The rooms are very clean and well kept. The hotel is located very close to the Udupi Krishna Temple, just about 250 meters away. Although the road leading to the hotel is narrow, it is still manageable. The service provided is excellent. The bathrooms are clean and neat. This hotel is suitable for those visiting the temple or on official business.
