It's been a wonderful 3N/4D stay at Hyatt Centric, Ballygunge, Kolkata. The room was comfortable, and every detail was thoughtfully handled and well maintained — except for the space, which felt too cramped to justify the rates.The AC was a major letdown, stuck below 17°C throughout our stay, making it a freezing experience. Mornings were particularly challenging, with headaches caused by the excessive chill. We reported the issue on 22/8/26, and despite an hour-long visit and a claimed spare-part replacement, the AC could not be adjusted to a comfortable temperature, leaving us with an unpleasant place to rest.The dining experience, on the other hand, was nothing short of spectacular — excellent quality and a fantastic variety and spread of food. However, this was marred by hygiene issues: uncleaned leftovers stuck to the plates, and, most disturbingly, a strand of hair was found wound around the serving tongs, reflecting poor hygiene standards.We raised both issues with the staff and senior management, who responded with appropriate regret. However, the hotel only offered a 20% discount on in-room dining, which came nowhere close to compensating for the hygiene lapses we experienced — lapses serious enough that we chose to skip dining at the hotel entirely for two full days.
