Foul smell from washroom, forced entry by staff without consent when guest was present inside room in the name of service, management were not concerned about the issues even after reporting the incident about the room service staff tried to enter without permission. Blanket sheets were found dirty and full of stained.Hallways were full of bad order and non ventilated.Choose if you don’t care about the privacy and cleanliness and don’t know why this platform recommends this type of hotels to customers.

A badly designed room, a fractured leg, and a ruined holidayIf you have ever wondered why being a consumer in India can be such a frustrating experience, spend a night at Mascot Beach Resort.My wife and I had planned a trip through North Kerala, starting in Kannur. Unfortunately, our stay at Mascot Beach “Resort” brought that trip to an abrupt end.We checked into Room 603, a supposedly “Superior Room” with a beach view.First, the bathroom stank. If you have seen other reviews complaining about the smell, don't dismiss them. The staff tried cleaning the bathroom three times, but the stench remained. It smelled as though a dead rat was trapped somewhere above the false ceiling.But the smell turned out to be the least of our problems.The room is built on two different levels, with two steps inside the room shortly after you enter. Yet there was no conveniently located switch at the entrance to properly illuminate the room before walking in.The switches were on the other side of the room, near the bed—roughly 20 feet from the entrance.Think about that design for a moment.You enter an unfamiliar hotel room at night. You have to walk through the darkness to find the light switches, while there are steps in your path.That is exactly what my wife had to do.She didn't see the steps.She fell and fractured her leg.Our North Kerala holiday ended there. Instead of travelling and spending the money we had set aside for our holiday, we spent our time and money at the hospital.I subsequently spoke to my lawyer about the incident and was advised that inadequate lighting and the absence of an appropriate warning about a change in floor level could potentially raise questions about the hotel's responsibility.But then comes the reality every Indian consumer knows too well: How much time, money and energy are you prepared to spend fighting over it?That is perhaps the most frustrating part of this experience.I am not writing this review because the bathroom smelled bad or because the room wasn't luxurious enough. Hotels can have maintenance problems.I am writing it because my wife entered a poorly lit, unfamiliar room containing an unexpected change in floor level, fell, and fractured her leg.A hotel room should not require a guest to navigate steps in darkness simply to reach the light switch.Our holiday was ruined. My wife is now recovering from a fracture. And what should have been the beginning of a memorable North Kerala trip became a trip to the hospital instead.If you are considering staying here—particularly if you are travelling with children, elderly parents, or anyone with mobility issues— DON'T GOAnd if they give you Room 603, find the light switch before you take another step.

Rooms were dull and not clean. Very outdated interiors. Old furnishing and blurry mirror. Dust on headrest. Poor lighting in room and bathroom. Poor customer service. Request for adjacent rooms was not satisfied despite confirming availability 2 hours before checkin.
