Silvanus Forest Retreat

A good place for a short break from city. Located off the main road with a good road to the location with just 200 meters of mild off-road (builds up the excitement). The whole resort is full of absolute greenery with a huge variety of flowering plants as well as large trees. The occasional rain further enhanced the ambience. The check-in was fast and courteous. Complimentary Wi-Fi speed is good. The suite with private pool we opted was large and clean. Room service was prompt and cheerful. Dinner and Breakfast buffet were good. Beach is 15 mins drive from the resort (not a great beach but good for a stroll and sounds of waves). On things that may concern some, our room was on higher ground and needed one to walk up stairs ( we like it), however, people with knee trouble may find it difficult. Rooms could brighter lights. Hot water geyser was bit slow to warm water (not a real concern unless one is short of time). Overall, this was one of the better properties we have visited. We recommend it and may visit again.

I recently visited Silvanus Forest Retreat with my parents on my birthday, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and memorable trips we’ve had in a long time. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the beauty of nature ’ tall trees, birdsong, and a sense of calm that you just can’t find in the city.The cottages are beautifully designed, blending comfort with a rustic charm that fits perfectly into the forest setting. Everything was spotless, and the attention to detail was impressive ’ cozy beds, warm lighting, and balconies that open to serene forest views and a private pool.The staff deserve a special mention ’ they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help without being intrusive. They made sure my parents were comfortable.The food was another highlight ’ fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We loved their rich creamy tomato soup and fresh soft rotis.Overall, Silvanus Forest Retreat is the perfect place if you’re looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and spend quality time with loved ones. Whether you’re sipping tea by the trees, watching the sunset, or simply breathing in the quiet, it feels like a little slice of paradise.Highly recommended ’ I am already planning next visit with my wife who missed out since she was not in town ! ’’’

Rooms are completely worn out walls are cracked, tables are wobbly, and overall the place feels neglected. Just keeping a broken property clean doesn’t justify the amount they charge.There were no TV channels, and we had to chase them multiple times to get the recharge done, which finally happened only a night before we checked out. Room service was equally poor and needed constant follow-up for even basic requests.Indoor games are mostly broken, the swimming pool area is rusted, and the washrooms and changing rooms are in terrible condition.Food was just okay the chicken dishes were dripping with oil. Honestly, I don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews. That’s what made me book it, but it’s nowhere close to being worth the money.The only positive was that they allowed us to check in an hour early and accommodated a non-veg soup request in the set menu, as we had opted for the breakfast and dinner plan. Still, I strongly suggest not taking the meal package here. There are much better food options outside, especially for non-veg lovers. It’s disappointing that a hotel located in Alibaug, right by the beach, didn’t even serve fish in their buffet.

The hotel is located in a great area that offers plenty of privacy, making it ideal for a peaceful stay. However, the room service was only average and the food quality left much to be desired. Considering the overall experience, the services provided do not justify the price charged, making it a less-than-reasonable value for Money.

Bed quality is very poor. Your back will sink in a hole.
