The Kutumb Villa - A Heritage Home Stay

I visited The Kutumb Villa in December 2025 (posting this review late), and it was a wonderful experience! The owners were incredibly welcoming, the room had a charming rustic feel, the neighborhood felt like home, the location was very convenient with many attractions within a short walking distance, and the rooftop offered stunning views of Mehrangarh Fort – I can't recommend this place enough! The room was cozy and rustic (see photos) with all the essential amenities you'd expect, even though it's a family-run homestay. After a tiring train journey, being greeted by the owner with a hot cup of tea made the stay feel very warm and comfortable. Special thanks to uncle and Nandu bhaiya for their constant help with directions, tips for nearby tourist spots, transport, and more! Although some might find the narrow lanes challenging for cabs or larger vehicles, the area is close to Ghanta Ghar, Toorji ka jhalra, and the famous Blue city heritage walk. You can also walk to Mehrangarh Fort, which involves some hiking. The neighborhood is well served by auto-rickshaws and offers an authentic old Jodhpur atmosphere with rustic buildings and sweet shops. Overall, Jodhpur is rich in history and culture, and The Kutumb Villa truly captures that essence. I highly recommend staying here!

Positives: The family running the place are wonderful and very accommodating. I appreciated the room's design. The air conditioning worked well, the hot water and shower were good, and the fridge was convenient. Wifi was reliable. After checking in, the bathroom sink was leaking badly onto the floor, which they repaired, but it took two hours, and we just wanted to unwind after a long trip. Negatives: There is no soundproofing, making the room very noisy. You can hear everything from the busy street, loud families outside until 1am, drums nearby at night, and children shouting and playing cricket in the street. Even a cough outside sounds like it's inside the room. The curtains are thin, so the room gets very bright in the morning. Although the TV was shown in the photos, it was hidden under the bed. The rooftop should offer a great view of the fort, but the viewing area is closed due to broken steps. This rustic B&B has many good qualities, but if you want a peaceful night's sleep, I suggest staying outside the Old Town and taking a tuk tuk in.
