Upper Deck Resort - Highest Peak, Lonavala

Great location for going out with family, not friends but family.

The rooms are poorly maintained, quite outdated, and urgently require renovation. The linens are also very worn out.

Our office held a corporate picnic at UpperDeck Resort in Lonavala, booking 32 rooms for about 85 people. The overall experience was very positive. The resort is perched atop a mountain within a forest, offering a fantastic ambiance and views, especially during the rainy season with fog and rain. From the top, you can see Lonavala city and even walk to the backwaters of Tungarli Dam. A key tip for large groups: the road is narrow and steep, so avoid large 45-50 seater buses. Tempo Travellers and 26-seater minibuses can reach the reception. You need to bring all supplies as there are no shops nearby once inside the resort. Upon arrival, we received welcome drinks. After check-in, lunch was served and was tasty, as were the evening snacks. We organized an evening drinks party in the hall, which the team arranged well. The food was generally good, and the staff was helpful and cooperative. The property has about 57 rooms, which are spacious but somewhat old and could use renovation. One significant downside for corporate groups is the resort's strict policies: evening parties, DJ, and drinks are only allowed until 9:30 PM in the hall. Also, having DJ Novex and a PPL License for the DJ was mandatory, costing us an extra Rs. 70k-80k, which raised our budget considerably. This is an important factor to consider when planning. Overall, it's a good spot for corporate outings if you want nature, tranquility, good food, and misty mountain views.

Room:-It was clean.But there was cockroach roaming around. And even on bed.Pillows were clumsy . One was big other was small. But the cotton inside was not proper. This caused improper sleep.Hotel- location is good. But maintenance not good.bylanes smelled a lot due to toilet smell or water dripping from above.Pool was also not maintained. Hence avoided to enter. The artificial water fall. And one more roundabout sitting section of pool were kept closed.The artificial lake also was not properly maintained.Food is too costly 1250 pp for dinner and room service not available. So if you are with small baby or children.Make your preparation well in advance to avoid tricky situation.And if travelling with elderly who might need medical care. Avoid this place. As it is far off from the centre and no ambulance was visible as well

Stunning location, but absolutely terrible experience and zero hospitality. Avoid!When planning a weekend getaway, the entire point is to relax, enjoy good food, unwind without constant restrictions, and make memories. Sadly, Upper Deck Resort completely ruined our trip. Aside from the picturesque location and view, everything else deserves a 0 out of 5 rating.Here is our honest experience1. Horrible Access & Zero Support for Groups:If you are traveling with a group (we had 30’40 people in a Volvo bus), be warned: large buses cannot make it up to the resort. Instead of arranging shuttle assistance or warning us beforehand, they left us stranded 3 km away. We were forced to arrange local transport on our own, which cost us ’2,000 extra just for a 3 km drop. The staff offered zero help or courtesy.2. Shocking Lack of Maintenance & Safety Hazards:Game Zone: The air conditioning was completely non-functional. To make matters worse, water was actively leaking from the ceiling, leaving the entire floor dangerously wet and slippery.Swimming Pool: Filthy and poorly purified water. Several pool tiles were broken and missing, posing a serious injury risk.1. Strict Timings & Lack of Activities:There are barely any activities to enjoy. Even the few indoor games they have are shut down strictly on rigid timings. It felt more like staying in a hostel with rules and curfews than a leisure resort.2. Pathetic Food, Service & Arrogant Staff:The food was sub-par and tasteless, service was exceptionally slow, and whenever we raised concerns, the staff responded with sheer arrogance and indifference.Do not waste your hard-earned money and precious holidays here. A good view cannot compensate for broken amenities, unhygienic facilities, and rude management. You are far better off renting a private villa or choosing another resort in Lonavala. Highly disappointing and strongly not recommended
