Discovering a Hidden Gem in Dharamshala ’ My Stay at WelcomeHeritage Grace HotelSpending two days in Dharamshala led me to one of the most memorable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Tucked away in a peaceful corner, the WelcomeHeritage Grace Hotel immediately felt like a sanctuary. The hotel is a 200-year-old country house, lovingly transformed into a boutique property, filled with Indian art treasures ’ from deity statues and antique furniture to delicate glassware and vintage photographs.When I first stepped into my room, I was greeted with a breathtaking view of the Kangra Valley. Watching the sun rise over the hills from my window was pure magic. The serenity of the location made it the perfect escape.Food was another highlight of my stay. I indulged in both Indian and Chinese dishes, each one prepared with care and bursting with flavor. After a day of exploring, returning to such comfort was a joy. The hotel was spotless, well-maintained, and offered excellent Wi-Fi, which made it easy to share my adventures in real-time.What truly made my visit special was the warm and friendly staff. Their genuine hospitality and attentiveness turned my stay into an experience I’ll always remember. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to friends.If you’re planning a trip to Dharamshala, I wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Grace Hotel. It’s a perfect blend of history, comfort, and heartfelt Indian hospitality.

We stayed during the off season and were practically the only guests. The staff were attentive and helpful, the food was excellent and the hotel is well located for getting to all the major sights

Huge rooms with some offering great views of the valley. We were fortunate to arrive at a time when only a few rooms were occupied so we were taken around and shown the rooms and given a choice to select whichever we wanted to stay in. This is truly a heritage property with a history going back much before independence of India. The manager Mr Inderjeet and entire staff are extremely responsive. Many thanks to Parveen for his great service. The hotel is more like a home with personal attention from the limited staff who are available from early morning till way past dinner. The best part of our stay was that we could get food made to order including the choice of vegetables that we wanted. On the last night of our stay, we were served Himachali food which was made very well.A few suggestions to the management - Extra attention to some basic hygiene requirements will make this property a perfect stay. For example - pls do something about the rats behind the panels. Hearing the squeeks and scrambling noise of the rats is unnerving when sitting in the restaurant with food in our mouth. Pls place a dustbin in the room near the tea kettle for the used tea bags. If possible, pls get an exhaust fitted in the bathroom as there is no cross ventilation. Finally, it would be great if you could keep sealed tea bags instead of the open ones. The loose tea bags loose it's flavour after some time.To fellow guests - If self driving a wide SUV or a big car, do not follow the google maps for the last 200 meters as the entry lane is very narrow, with bikes and cars parked in the narrow lane making it difficult to drive. Call the hotel for directions to access to the hotel from the Kotwali Bazar byepass road / Panda Hotel (even though it's a one way lane the staff can assist you to come up the wrong way). The hotel can also assist you by calling a cab in case you do not want to drive to Mcleodganj (an Alto cab will cost 400 vs 450 pp one way on the ropeway)

Our family (me, my wife and 6 years son) had a pleasure of visiting this property today and what a gem it is. Pure heritage and together with the unmatched hospitality, we had a great time spent. Ample space for kids to play, awesome views, historical ambience and lovely rooms. We were also fortunate to meet the lovely owners of the hotel who were very friendly, polite and made sure that we were comfortable throughout. Special thanks for the 10 mins meditation session which was a highlight and turned our whole day into an experience. The manager of the hotel is also very kind and polite. Another interesting fact, if you are lucky then at times you may also see some movie shooting here, yes it is that kind of place.. :)Thank you so much to the owners of the hotel for keeping this place the way it is and the courteous staff and people around.Many good wishes & regards to whole team!

Vores familie (jeg, min kone og 6-årige søn) havde fornøjelsen af at besøge denne ejendom i dag, og hvilken perle det er. Ren heritage og sammen med den uovertrufne gæstfrihed, havde vi en fantastisk tid. God plads til børn at lege, fantastiske udsigter, historisk atmosfære og dejlige værelser. Vi var også heldige at møde de dejlige ejere af hotellet, som var meget venlige, høflige og sørgede for, at vi var komfortable hele tiden. Speciel tak for den 10 minutters meditationssession, som var et højdepunkt og gjorde vores hele dag til en oplevelse. Hotellets leder er også meget venlig og høflig. En anden interessant detalje, hvis du er heldig, kan du nogle gange også se nogle filmoptagelser her, ja, det er sådan et sted.. :) Tusind tak til hotellets ejere for at holde dette sted, som det er, og det høflige personale og folk omkring.
