Amber by The Tamarilllo

The biggest letdown during my stay wasn’t the broken geyser but the owner's behavior. I had reserved a balcony room at Tamarillo for July 9, 2026, even rearranging my travel plans since balcony rooms were scarce. This was my first visit to Ooty. Around 8 PM, I noticed the geyser wasn’t working, leaving no hot water in Ooty’s chilly weather. I politely requested the owner to fix it immediately or refund me if it couldn’t be repaired. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner refused to refund and told me to move to another property. Late at night, my family and I had to pack and relocate. The replacement room was in poor shape—dirty stained bedsheets, broken tiles, bad odor, and poor upkeep. It was far from the room I had booked. I paid ₹3,200 and got an unacceptable experience. A good hotel owner would take responsibility when issues arise, but here, customer satisfaction seemed unimportant. I won’t book with this hotel group again and can’t recommend it based on my experience.

A fantastic spot to stay in Ooty. Very near the lively city center but still quiet and peaceful. The rooms are well kept, the food is delicious, there’s a campfire, and stunning scenery. I strongly suggest this place to anyone coming to Ooty!

Throughout our stay, Manager Ranjith and caretaker Sajith offered outstanding hospitality. The breakfast was tasty, and true to their word, they organized a fantastic campfire for us. Their friendly service and careful attention enhanced our experience greatly. Strongly recommended!
