Canadian Cottage Dalhousie

We visited during June 2026. The place is offbeat, a good budget stay option and road is still developing. Food is tasty and staff is prompt. We had nice and comfortable stay. They need some more improvements in property to provide all weather comfortable stay. Dinning room is required where buffet meals can be offered. Outdoor tables in balcony are more often than not used for outdoor seating food options. Since this place gets cold and has frequent rains, the outdoor should be partially covered to give covered seating options to those who have not opted for balcony rooms.. owners were nice and kind people.

I would recommend this place if you’re traveling with your fur buddies. I stayed with 3 of them and they provided me the terrace access for my fur buddies. Always recommended.

Our stay at Canadian Cottage in Dalhousie was very disappointing. The access road is almost impassable and feels very unsafe, particularly for cars. The bathroom smelled terrible, like something decayed, which spoiled the entire visit. I wouldn't suggest staying here unless significant upgrades are done. The only positive was Pawanji, who made an effort to improve our stay, but it wasn't enough.

Our time at Canadian Cottage in Dalhousie was very disappointing because of the awful road conditions around the hotel. The roads leading to the property are completely blocked and under construction, and we were not informed about this in advance. As a result, we were basically stuck at the hotel with no easy way to travel or explore Dalhousie. The poor communication and lack of arrangements from the hotel made the stay even more frustrating. A vacation should be relaxing, but we spent most of it dealing with inconvenience and uncertainty. The property itself might be okay, but access is a big problem right now, and guests should be warned clearly before booking. Additionally, the washroom has a strong bad smell, likely due to a poor drainage system, and the odor even spreads into the bedroom. I would not suggest visiting until the road issues are completely fixed.

A pleasant place to stay. The owner is very helpful, and the staff are humble and intelligent. If I visit again, this hotel will be my top choice.
