Good points:Large rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, good evening meal and great beer! Great breakfast omelettes.Less good points:Whole hotel is a bit tired. Breakfast was hit and miss. Stale cornflakes, food running out despite the two young women working hard to keep up (mostly greedy guests). Toilet paper rolls were ridiculously small. Location was a 20 to 30 minute tuk-tuk ride out of the centre of town.

After reading several reviews about Hotel Ritz Plaza’some decent and others extremely negative’I was quite sceptical about booking this hotel. Still, we decided to take a chance and booked a room for two nights, mainly because of its location and its proximity to the sightseeing spots.To our pleasant surprise, the experience turned out to be much better than expected. The hotel is located on Mall Road, a posh and convenient area. Although the property is slightly old, it is well maintained, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.We chose a package that included both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was good, though the choices were limited, with eggs being the only non-vegetarian option in the buffet. Dinner also had a limited spread, but the quality, taste, and quantity of the food were very good, which made up for the fewer options. The reception staff were helpful, polite, and responsive throughout our stay.Considering the affordable room tariffs, the overall experience was excellent value for money. I honestly don’t understand why some guests leave extremely negative reviews’perhaps they were expecting five-star luxury and services. For the price you pay, expecting that would be unrealistic.Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Ritz Plaza to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in a great location at a reasonable price.

I recently stayed at Ritz Plaza for 2 nights and 3 days, and unfortunately, the food experience was absolutely terrible. The quality of the meals was shockingly poor, and I honestly expected much better from such a reputed hotel.The food was bland, undercooked, and lacked any real flavor. On top of that, the presentation was unappetizing, and the portions were very small for the price. We ordered a variety of dishes, and each one was worse than the last. It felt like they weren't even trying to deliver a decent meal.The worst part was the inconsistency in food quality. Some dishes were too salty, others tasted like they were reheated leftovers, and nothing seemed fresh. The staff seemed indifferent when we complained about the food, which made the situation even more disappointing.I would highly recommend avoiding the food here if you're staying at the Ritz Plaza. It's really unfortunate because the location and other services seemed fine, but the food was a major letdown. I won’t be coming back just because of this experience.

I first stayed at this hotel in 1980. For four and a half decades I have been returning. It is truly like home and, importantly, one feels treated like family.Well done, Hotel Ritz Plaza.My warmest wishes to all those there.
