Nice hotel

Spent two nights at Fortune Inn. The rooms were compact but adequately comfortable for two guests. Everything in the room worked properly and the bed had decent cushioning. Service was prompt; housekeeping responded quickly and was helpful whenever we asked for something. I only tried the breakfast, which was well-prepared with a good selection including juices and fruits, so it's worth booking with breakfast included. The location is ideal, just a five-minute walk from the Temple, market, and various restaurants. For longer trips, an e-rickshaw is convenient, taking about 10 minutes to reach the railway station. Booking online offers good deals, and using Uber for travel is cheaper and more comfortable than local taxis or rickshaws.

During my stay, I was very disappointed with how guest privacy was handled. My daughter and I went out for breakfast the next morning, and without any notice, consent, or even a courtesy call, housekeeping entered and cleaned our room while we were away. We were shocked to find the room already serviced when we returned. I called reception immediately, and the manager said it is their policy to clean rooms even if guests are not present, which I find completely unacceptable. As two women alone, we had all our personal items like jewelry, watches, clothes, and valuables openly in the room. Having staff enter without our knowledge or permission is a serious breach of privacy and made us feel uneasy and unsafe. Although the manager apologized, it does not change that this policy undermines guest privacy and trust. Housekeeping should only be done after getting guest approval or confirming they are okay with staff entering. I hope the hotel reviews and changes this policy so no other guest has to face this kind of experience.

The manager apologized, but an apology does not change the fact that such a policy compromises guest privacy and trust. Housekeeping should always be done only after obtaining the guest's permission or after confirming that they are comfortable with staff entering the room. I hope the hotel reviews and changes this policy to ensure that no other guest has to go through a similar experience.
