’’ WARNING ’ TERRIBLE HOTEL EXPERIENCE ’’HOTEL O SHILLONG (formerly Balaji Guest House) was one of the most disappointing and unhygienic places I have ever stayed in.The moment we checked in around 9 PM, it became obvious that the photos shown on Agoda were completely misleading. The actual room looked nothing like the pictures online. It was dark, poorly maintained, dirty, and felt more like a rundown roadside lodge than a hotel.The hygiene standards were shocking.The towel provided in the room had visible blood stains on it, which was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. It immediately raised concerns about whether the room and linens were being cleaned properly at all.The washroom conditions were equally terrible:’ No toiletries provided’ Extremely low water flow from the tap’ Broken and unclean fittings’ Lack of even basic maintenanceMany of the amenities advertised online simply did not exist in reality. The hotel appears to rely heavily on misleading listings and false advertising.What made the experience even worse was the behavior of the receptionist. Instead of addressing the issues professionally, the receptionist was rude and arrogant. During checkout, she even had the audacity to question us for raising complaints about the poor conditions, which was extremely unprofessional. Worst behaviour.Shillong is a beautiful destination, but staying here completely spoiled the experience for us.I strongly advise travellers not to waste their money on this property unless they are prepared for dirty rooms, poor service, and misleading promises. If the platform had negative rating would definitely give it.’’ DISAPPOINTING. UNHYGIENIC. MISLEADING. ’’

Worst experience with Hotel O Shillong formerly Balaji Guest House booked through OYO. Before booking, I clearly informed them that I would be reaching around midnight, and they agreed without any issue. However, when I finally reached the property late at night, they refused to provide the room.Being in an unfamiliar hill station at that hour, it became extremely difficult to find another place to stay, and the whole experience was very stressful and disappointing.Please be careful while booking through OYO in Shillong and similar hill areas. Even after prior confirmation, the booking may not be honored properly. It is better to reconfirm directly with the property before travelling late at night.

Nothing special about the place , just an ordinary cheap hotel which does the job if your budget is low ott there’s hot water available and the room and staff is average ,only recommended if you are getting it around 1-1.5k

Just came from Shillong. Room was spacious but the two ladies on reception area not at all cooperative as on the first evening of our stay we ask for towels but we were told that they would provide only one towel but later on the man on reception cooperated with us and provided towels. . And on the second day after reaching from day trip really astonished to find that the two single sofas from the five seater was missing while on enquiry the lady on the reception desk told that those two sofa were there due to meeting purpose moreover told one more thing that they removed those two single sofa for repairing purpose in her words woh sab thik korne ke liye niche rakha gaya. I am really dumb struck as I am really unaware of such type of activities after allotting one room how could the authorities without communicating could remove the inner furnitures. The bath room is very slippery and water used to go to backwards. There was only curtain in bathroom . Overall stay is not satisfactory
