Great spot to stay

Pleasant stay, very comfortable.

I can't understand how this hotel is rated as a 4-star, as my recent stay was far from that quality. Here's my honest feedback about Hotel Seven Lights, Kochi: 1. Unfair Early Check-in Fees: We booked and paid for early check-in at 7:00 AM, but when I arrived with my spouse and 1-year-old, the receptionist insisted we pay extra if we wanted the room 1 to 1.5 hours earlier. This is not the professional service expected from a 4-star hotel. 2. Suspicious Overcharging: On day one, they gave two free water bottles. The next day, when we asked for more, they tried charging ₹30 per bottle, above the ₹20 MRP. When my wife challenged this, the staff quickly said we didn't have to pay and to take them free. This felt very dishonest. 3. Poor Breakfast: The breakfast was cold with very limited options. Even a simple live-counter item like an omelette required extra payment. 4. Strict Policies Over Warmth: At check-in, instead of a friendly welcome, we were handed a strict one-page Terms and Conditions document. This hotel offers terrible service and feels more like a money trap than a hospitality business. I would not recommend staying here. My reply: You can try to justify your mistakes, but your receptionist never told me it would cost Rs. 350 for 2 hours; otherwise, I would have paid it since I already paid Rs. 4,800 for my family's stay. He only mentioned additional charges for early check-in. If guests check in late, do you refund them pro-rata? No. So if a guest arrives 1.5-2 hours early and you have rooms available, basic courtesy is to give them the room, especially with family. If rooms were unavailable, I wouldn't have complained. Also, in my experience with other 4-star hotels, water bottles are not charged. Currently, in Munnar, they refill bottles without asking. I reported the food issues to your restaurant staff; if you weren't informed, that's your internal communication problem. I stand by my original review. Stop twisting facts to defend yourself. Lastly, please have someone at reception who speaks English; we had to use Google Translate to communicate in Malayalam.
