Good:Very well located, everything nearby.Excellent breakfast at the restaurant "Zest".Restaurant staff ere very helpful and friendly, even when my toddler daughter kept showing) throwing tantrums, making a mess they stayed calm and kept lightening the mood with their smiles and friendly conversations. Also they made sure she felt at home at all time, serverd her a perfect khichdi and milk when needed.Bad:1. We went here to celebrate out anniversary, I even mentioned requesting cake in this platform. But during the checkin they said they didn't get any info regarding, even after asking 2-3 times to different receptionists I didn't get any clarity.This was probably the worst experience so far, I mean it's one to not get the message passed from the booking partner, but even after informing in person while checking in they didn't make any effort.2. Mini bar in room had bottles more than 2 year old.3. Towel smelled bag (like when clothes don't properly dry duingnraininsesson) during raining weather.4. TV, all low resolution channels, no option to cast from mobile5. Ved felt slightly uncomfortableOverall it was good stay value for money. But I won't recommend anyone choose them for any celebrations.

We recently visited Southern Star, Mysore, while planning a small family gathering for my cousin. We were looking for a reputed hotel that could offer a cosy and elegant dining experience for around 25 people. After exploring several options across Mysore, we felt this hotel was a good choice. The staff communication, coordination, and overall assistance during the planning stage were genuinely impressive.The ambience and overall vibe of the hotel are excellent, and I would not complain about those aspects. Additionally, for a family gathering, the space provided near the pool was quite spacious and comfortable, which worked well for our group.However, the biggest disappointment was the food. For any family gathering, food is the most important element, and unfortunately, it did not meet expectations.We had ordered both mutton and chicken biryani, but they were more like fried rice rather than authentic biryani. The naan was rubbery, and the gravy lacked flavour. Overall, the food quality was below par and did not match the standard one would expect from a hotel of this reputation.While the service, ambience, and space were commendable, the food experience was disappointing and needs significant improvement.

I stayed at Southern Star Mysore for two nights in April 2026 and had a very comfortable experience.I arrived late, around 11:30 PM, after a long journey, and unfortunately the restaurants and bars were already closed. But I have to give the hotel real credit for the minibar. Normally that’s something to avoid at all costs, but here the prices were actually reasonable. It was a relief to grab a beer and some snacks without feeling ripped off.The room itself was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The shower had excellent water pressure, which is always appreciated. The air conditioning worked very well, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout my stay.The staff were uniformly excellent, friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful at every interaction.Breakfast was largely South Indian, which was great, but don’t miss the omelet and dosa station outside. I overlooked it on my first morning and only discovered it later, which was a mistake worth avoiding - the masala dosa was delicious.The location is convenient, and the surrounding area is reasonably walkable, which made it easy to get out and explore a bit.Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would happily return here on a future visit to Mysore.

They kept us waiting for 15-20 mins without proper communication during checkin. Also no explanation on what is included in the package.
