Our stay at The Ocean Treat Hotels and Resort in Nagaon with family for two days and nights was very disappointing and felt like a waste of money. The room was large and comfortable with an attached gallery, but the gallery was useless as it was fully covered in front, offering no view. Basic amenities were lacking; the bathroom had no stool for bathing and only one small bucket was provided. When we requested an extra bucket, they refused, saying it was unavailable. Room service was slow and frustrating, and the food quality was poor. Breakfast, though included, was oily and had very limited choices like poha, sheera, and upma. Many lunch and dinner items were unavailable, and the menu was very limited. Housekeeping was unsatisfactory; despite requesting cleaning in the morning before going out, staff insisted on fixed timings and only swept the room without cleaning the bathroom or properly cleaning the floor. The swimming pool was small and poorly designed, with just a partition between kids and adults, offering no real privacy. If one family used it, others couldn’t comfortably use it. The pool was not properly cleaned, and water spread near the dining area, which was unhygienic. The kitchen was adjacent to the pool, making the setup uncomfortable. Staff behavior was unprofessional; when we complained about delayed food, they casually suggested canceling the order, which was unacceptable, especially with a 3-year-old child and no other options at night. The checkout experience was unpleasant; although checkout was at 11 AM, staff and the manager kept ringing the bell every five minutes, pressuring us to leave, showing no understanding despite our small child. We checked out at 11:30, but their attitude was rude. There were also electricity fluctuations at night. Overall, the stay was stressful, uncomfortable, and poorly managed. I strongly advise against The Ocean Treat Hotels and Resort, especially for families. Online reviews are misleading; the reality is very different, with poor facilities and a focus on money rather than guest comfort.
