Excellent stay, room is clean, staff is very welcoming and good hospitality. Food is ought to be improved. Not at all good. We had to eat outside before retiring at hotel!
It is peaceful, but it doesn't meet the criteria for 5 stars. I'm not sure how it received that rating. I've stayed at three CGH properties, and they all feel like 2-3 star places at best. They are quite basic, relying on authenticity to cover up the low quality of rooms and amenities. However, the staff are consistently friendly and hospitable.

Solo Traveller • Sep 2026We enjoyed a wonderful 3-night visit at Mantra Koodam – CGH Earth, finding the experience warm, cozy, and unforgettable from the start. The rooms were tidy, roomy, and well-kept, and the whole property exuded a serene and lovely vibe. What truly impressed us was the staff — every person we met was attentive, polite, courteous, and very professional. A special highlight was arriving during the hotel's Krishna Janmashtami festivities, which was a unique and beautifully arranged event that made our arrival even more memorable. We hadn't expected this and will cherish the memory. Vinothkumar deserves special recognition for his outstanding care and constant attentiveness, his kindness and professionalism made a big impact. We also appreciate the hotel organizing the cab and driver, Mr. Siva, for our local trips, making our visits to Kumbakonam and nearby temples easy and stress-free. Overall, Mantra Koodam went beyond what we hoped for. It's an excellent choice for anyone visiting Kumbakonam, especially if you want a calm, comfortable, and genuine experience away from the busy city life. Many thanks to the whole Mantra Koodam team for making our stay so special. We would gladly come back and strongly recommend this hotel!
