This is a beautiful well maintained luxury hotel in a rural part of Tamil Nadu. You can explore the many temples in the area (we just visited a couple by cycling around the immediate area). Alternatively stay on site and enjoy the pool and the tranquility.We both had some treatments at the Ayurveda centre. They were fine, but very expensive for what they are. The yoga was exceptionally expensive, unlike other CGH resorts where it's free. Needless to say, we gave the yoga a miss.The food was fantastic.The staff were all incredibly helpful, polite and charming.Having an iPad shoved under your nose as you are sitting in reception checking out with a request to provide feedback is somewhat intrusive, though. I don't blame the staff, they are clearly directed to do it. By all means send me an email after my stay, and let me decide if I would like to leave feedback. But, CGH, please don't make your guests feel pressurised to do this.The biggest disappointment, though, was the markup they put on the car they booked to take us to our next destination (another CGH hotel). We probably paid almost double the going rate by paying the hotel. The next hotel organised a similar transfer where we paid the driver directly and it was almost half the price for the same distance and same type of car.Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars all the way.

The property in Madurai is a blessing, excellent food, brilliant pool and clean rooms. The area itself is cooler than rest of Madurai and is easily accessible. The staff were exceptional and would recommend taking young children for the pool, peacocks and food.

Let me start with good.The breakfast was great . Lot of options.Staffs really friendly and kind helpful. Very impressed.Very good tea kada for evening time snack and tea.Kid has activities like fish feeding and lighting lamp. My daughter was happy .Away from city chaosFew points they should really change.Worst room with open bathroom. Seriously not acceptable. Room was old and needs maintenance. Not worth for the price charged.Bathroom was most scary nightmare for me. There were frogs and lizards at night . This is very scary for a person like me. I wouldn't ever stay here again . I had to use the bathroom so scarily 5am the frog jumping around. I was welcomed by a big dead cockroach lying .My heart stopped.The leaf veg meal for lunch was 1500+tax . This is not normal price. Its mainly to loot the foreign tourists . I would not accept this act.Breakfast 650 . Dinner was also expensive food wasn't worth the money.The toiletries here gave severe itching at night I dont recommend using those herbal powders kept there .Dont expect a luxury stay seeing the price of room. Not worth. Breakfast was charged extra. Seriously for the room you get 11k is not worth at all . Waste of money.Its far from temples you need to visit too.Far away from everything so you are forced to have the expensive food here.Kindly update the room and the bathroom to be closed with a glass so u can get view and avoid the reptiles and insects from entering.

Stayed here for 3 nights, from the moment we arrived the hospitality and welcoming of the staff is excellent. The food in the restaurant was really good. Service was excellent. My wife and I had an aturveed massage in the spa, simply amazing.. We were visiting for a wedding in Kumbakonam. Beautiful surroundings, well equipped room, clean facilities all around.
