NUTSHELL Airport Retreat by the Sea

My relative booked this property for all of us. Sadly, the property conditons were far from desirable. The entire house has a distinctly unlikeable stench, the place is horribly understaffed even for a homestay, the approach road to the property is as good as nothing... it's just sand. We had made a 'pay at the property' booking online but the moment we saw the condition of Nutshell and how it is far from how we imagined...we wanted to cancel our booking since we are travelling with senior citizens too. Sadly, the owner instead of understanding our predicament and giving us some leeway, levied the entire tarrif charge on us. How is this fair? If a customer does not find the property upto standards, don't we have the right to cancel. Sure, you charge a nominal cancellation fee, but asking us to pay for the entire night stay even though we didn't stay in the property? I am extremely disappointed by my experience and suggest people look at other properties unless they are travelling on a tight budget. We made a mistake and had to pay a hefty sum. I ended up making other arrangements at a luxury hotel to erase this horrible memory from my family's mind. Only two positive things about this location are the beach view and the driver who came to pick us up.

Good and great view near beach. Easy access from road. Route in very small street. So, car or auto can easily access.

Very special stay in front of a quiet sea beach.The airport is just 5 minutes walking.The property itself us unique, with spacious rooms and huge decorated spaces with big kitchens.The atmosphere is so delicated with a selection of old wood furnitures from Kerala.It has a family feeling and it just feel so warm and welcome.Rooms are very clean.Nisha and her family are excellent hosts.

Best part is sea view and walkable distance from the terminal 1 (but they charge me 200 Rs for the pickup from outside of the airport).Rooms now doesn't match with the photos shown, might be the old photos.Furniture shown in photos are very old, it seems they bought used furniture.Because in front of the sea the humidity is very high.And the locality is not good.Rooms were stinky, that whole locality was stinky.There is no road in front of the hotel.It's actually a house which they converted to hotel.No food facility.If you ask for any favour they will start crying about make my trip commission.If you are there to explore the city then beleive me you will just go in the night to the room that too for sleeping, for that purpose price is very high.
