Ramada by Wyndham Udaipur Resort and Spa

We booked a villa with a fort and valley view based on the photos shown online, but on arrival, we were given rooms with no real view, only tree branches.When we raised this with the staff, we were told the resort was fully booked and they could not accommodate us.We were also asked to speak with Agoda if we were unhappy, which was not the kind of response expected from a 5-star property.I requested checkout within 15 minutes, and they said we could do that and ask Agoda for a refund.They mentioned calling the manager, but the manager did not come to speak with us, which was very disappointing.Later, they suddenly offered us a room with a clear view, and when I asked why it was not offered earlier, I was told those rooms are kept for regular customers.That answer was quite ridiculous and made us feel like our booking was not valued.The resort may be listed as 5-star, but the rooms felt more like 3-star, with old furniture and a bad smell.We had to request room freshener to make the room more comfortable.On the positive side, the staff were polite and helpful in general, and the food quality was good, around 4-star standard.The resort is located on a busy road, but it is built on a hill with a nice windy driveway.Overall, the stay was disappointing, mainly due to the room allocation, poor handling of the issue, and lack of management involvement.

Ramada Udaipur — A Disappointing Stay Despite a Good PropertyI recently stayed at Ramada by Wyndham Udaipur Resort & Spa, and unfortunately, my overall experience was far below what I expected from a reputed luxury resort.Let me start with the positives:The housekeeping, kitchen, restaurant, and service staff were generally cooperative and polite. I have no major complaints about their behaviour or willingness to assist.However, the room facilities, overall maintenance, and front-desk experience were quite disappointing.1. Basic room facilities are missingThere was no refrigerator in my room. For a property positioned as a luxury resort, this is difficult to understand. The room has a minibar/bar setup with drinks and snacks, including beer, but without a refrigerator, how is a guest supposed to have a chilled beer?The minibar itself also did not give a premium feel. It appeared to be an old cupboard converted into a minibar, which looked completely out of place in what is supposed to be a luxury resort.2. Rooms feel very old and outdatedThe room interiors and overall condition clearly need refurbishment. The room does not give the modern, well-maintained, premium feeling that one would reasonably expect at this price point.3. Bathroom facilities are also outdatedThe bathroom is very old-fashioned, and several basic amenities were missing.Even a basic bath mat/floor mat was not provided. After taking a shower, we had to repeatedly request one from the hotel.A shaving kit, which is a fairly standard amenity in hotels of this category, was also not available.4. Even basic refreshments are not readily availableGreen tea was not provided in the room and had to be ordered separately. While this may sound like a small issue, such basic details make a significant difference to the overall experience at a premium resort.5. Front Desk / Reception needs serious improvementThis was another disappointing aspect of my stay.While the housekeeping and restaurant staff were cooperative, the reception/front-desk staff came across as rude, unhelpful, and lacking in guest-friendly service.A luxury property should have a front desk that makes guests feel welcomed and assisted. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.6. Breakfast — Where is the Rajasthani experience?This was particularly surprising.We are staying in Udaipur, Rajasthan, but the breakfast menu prominently features South Indian food such as Dosa and Sambar on a daily basis.There is absolutely nothing wrong with South Indian cuisine, but when guests travel all the way to Rajasthan, they should also get a meaningful opportunity to experience authentic Rajasthani food and flavours.At times, the breakfast experience honestly felt more like being in a South Indian hotel than in Rajasthan.Overall ExperienceThe property itself has good potential, and a large part of the service staff is genuinely cooperative. However, the rooms, bathrooms, basic amenities, minibar/refrigerator facilities, and front-desk hospitality need significant improvement.The biggest disappointment is that the property has the potential to be a great luxury resort, but the guest rooms and basic facilities do not appear to be receiving the attention they deserve.If you are paying a premium price for a luxury resort experience, I would strongly recommend checking these aspects before booking.My recommendation to the management:Invest in room renovation and refurbishment, upgrade the basic amenities, provide proper refrigerator/minibar facilities, improve bathroom amenities, and provide better hospitality training to the front-desk team.Rating: ☆☆☆ (2/5)A good location and a beautiful property alone do not create a luxury experience. Room quality, basic facilities, hospitality, and attention to guest comfort matter just as much.

A very pleasant place to stay…

Everything was fine

I had a very disappointing experience. When I checked out on 02/08/2026, the bill should have been ₹2,248.60, but the staff wrongly charged ₹3,220. I ended up recalculating the bill for all 5 guests myself, which took more than 1 hour and 23 minutes. Additionally, the food quality was bad. Such mistakes and poor service are not acceptable. I hope the management works on improving the billing accuracy and food quality.
