The overall experience until the check-out was really good; the only issue we experienced was that for our whole stay, our car was parked in their property, and still, they didn't maintain the cleanliness/ washing of the car. The whole car got covered with bird and monkey shit, while checkout i asked why the car had this dirt and why it's not maintained as clean as I brought it in. Their answer was, " You will have to go out and have it washed. You can see the condition of my car while checking out from there.

I have been traveling my entire life and have spent time in heritage properties throughout the world. The ones that have always stood out to me are not the ones with the most lavish offerings in terms of amenities or even the views themselves, instead it is the staff's attention to detail and their willingness to ensure that you have a wonderful time that makes a property great. I've been to the Taj located in the same palace (on the other end), while it may be a more luxurious property, a stay there ends up feeling like one at any of the other Taj properties across the country. Whereas Shiv Niwas Palace, is able to ride the thin line balancing the royal stay it promises paired with a boutique hotel experience. Which is getting rarer by the day, even in properties by six senses and similar companies. Would definitely recommend a stay here, a dip by the pool and a chat with the restaurant staff (especially the gentleman who has been a part of their team for almost 4 decades) as they have a lot of good recommendations and an endless pit of some of the most interesting stories I've heard. Thank you guys.
