The temple management or local people/government seem to be least bothered about hygiene, sanitation, waste management and public facilities. It takes carefully crafted mismanagement to keep an iconic place like this in such bad shape. Many visiting pilgrims/tourists seem to be all the more happy to add to the filth around. A classic showcase of the infamous dissonance between devotion and sanitation in many big religious centres in the country. Dilapidated roads with open drains, no footpaths and all types of imaginable wastes dumped on the side. Apparently, Madras High Court had issued a directive in 2016 to clean up the place. Suffice to say that if Hanuman visits the island now, He would neither need any reminder nor show any hesitation to leap to Lanka. Now, the hotel. Located (as of now) off the chaos of Rameswaram, this place is an oasis of hygiene. Some salient features or lack thereof1) The staff is courteous and resourceful2) Best for those travelling in their own vehicle. 3) Rooms on the right side may have their view out of the window as a building is fast coming up there4) There is no restaurant. A pantry with hot and cold (aerated/carbonated) beverages on demand is the saving grace5) Bathroom is a bit odd. No mirrors. Drainge outlet is placed right next to the door threshold in the floor, leaving the floor mostly wet.6) The room with two cots has no room for a chair to be kept by the table. A minor inconvenience.

The hotel is quite new and still appears to be a work in progress. The rooms are relatively small, and the toilet floor is noticeably lower than the regular room floor, which could be improved. Breakfast is provided, but there is no proper common dining area, making it inconvenient to sit and eat.The staff are friendly and helpful, which is a positive. However, there is quite a lot of noise that can be heard from reception, affecting the overall comfort of the stay.Overall, the hotel has potential, but some improvements in room design, dining facilities, sound insulation, and finishing would make the experience much better.
