Sayaji Resorts & Spa, Udaipur

Gaid. For mi

I would highly recommend steering clear of this hotel, despite it being newly constructed. Our experience was disappointing on many fronts. Location The hotel is about 14 km from Udaipur city. Although it’s near a highway, the access roads are in very poor shape. You must rely on your own vehicle. Uber is unreliable due to weak network coverage, and drivers often ask for 25–30% extra payment or cancel the ride. Major Issues Reception & Front Office Staff We arrived around 3:45 PM and had to wait 20–30 minutes to check in—no welcome drink, no communication, no courtesy. The only warm greeting came from the musician at the entrance. One front office staff member (let’s call her Lady X) was very rude and dismissive throughout our stay. When we asked about the manager, she said he "might not be in office," but I saw him leave shortly after. After I raised the issue with him, he apologized and then escorted us to our room. Network issue: there is basically no network coverage anywhere on the property, so you can only rely on WiFi. Room Experience While taking us to the room, Lady X said bluntly: "Sir, your room was basic category which we upgraded." Her tone made it sound like a favor rather than a service. Usually, upgrades are pleasant surprises, but this felt annoying. The room was average: • Felt empty, missing furniture on one side • No notable balcony view • Didn’t feel like an upgrade at all • Had to call reception for tea/coffee sachets and sugar, which even budget hotels provide automatically Play Area & Internal Transport The play area is on a hilltop with good views—one of the few positives. But: • The golf cart pickup system is unreliable • We waited 20 minutes, called again, and were ignored • My wife and I ended up walking down the hill ourselves This raises serious concerns about emergency readiness and accountability. Power Failure On the morning of Day 2, the room lost power. After calling reception twice, someone came but didn’t know where the MCB was and had to call another staff member for help. Total time wasted: about 1 hour. Checkout Experience Checkout is at 11 AM (not the usual 12 PM) to give housekeeping 3 hours, but they still forget basic essentials. At 10:55 AM, Lady X called and said: "Ma’am, your checkout is now, when are you leaving?" Her tone was shockingly unprofessional. When my wife explained we were delayed due to earlier issues, she replied: "Problems keep happening, but we are solving them." Completely unacceptable. At checkout, Lady X covered her name badge, and we had to repeatedly ask for a feedback form, which I doubt will be taken seriously. Only Positive The restaurant staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely tried to improve our experience. Food quality was above average. Final Verdict Despite being new and surrounded by nature, the hotel: • Lacks warmth and hospitality • Has poorly trained front office staff • Fails completely in guest handling and service recovery I have stayed at offbeat places (including Kumbhalgarh) that were more peaceful and professionally managed. Here, the entire front office experience—mainly due to Lady X—ruined the stay. Even her colleagues seemed frustrated with her. Do yourself a favor: book a better hotel closer to Udaipur city, even if it costs more. You’ll thank me later. Check out my full review on YouTube channel ‘SG’s take’. Stay dates: 24 - 26 Dec 2025

The staff were very friendly and kind. The food tasted great and the service was outstanding.

Service was good.

Our overall experience at Sayaji was wonderful. Every event proceeded flawlessly and was fantastic. The reception staff were very helpful, especially Liza, Shivam, Kamlesh, Harshita, and Vikas. Thank you for your cooperation. We will be visiting again soon.
