The Byke Heritage Resort - Matheran

I stayed at The Byke Heritage, Matheran from 27th May to 28th May and was extremely disappointed with the way key amenities were represented to guests.The resort promotes and sells its property highlighting 3 swimming pools as a major attraction. However, after reaching the resort, guests were informed that only 1 pool was operational. Even that pool was only partially filled with water and was not in a condition that matched what was advertised.The rain dance facility, another attraction promoted by the resort, was also unavailable during our stay. None of this was clearly communicated before booking.Many guests were upset and raised complaints with the management. I personally witnessed multiple complaints and have video evidence showing the condition of the pool area and the dissatisfaction among guests.What was most disappointing was the lack of transparency. Guests paid expecting access to the facilities advertised by the resort but were informed of these limitations only after arrival. Despite raising our concerns with the management, no refund, compensation, or satisfactory resolution was offered.While the food, breakfast buffet, and evening entertainment (by singer Gauri followed by Disco at the resort) were enjoyable, the experience was overshadowed by the unavailability of key amenities that influenced our booking decision.I hope the management improves transparency and informs guests in advance whenever major facilities are not operational, so families can make informed choices before booking.

Very disappointing experience at this hotel in Matheran. Me and my daughter visited on 20th May 2026, after booking an AC Deluxe Room through their Mumbai branch. (Ruchita) The room shown on WhatsApp was completely different from the actual room provided. The toilet was dirty and smelling badly. The food was uncooked, the bread was stale, and the swimming pool was not working.Even basic services were not available. There was no hot kettle in the room. I repeatedly requested the staff to clean the room and toilet, but they ignored my requests. Finally, I had to personally go to the reception desk and speak to the manager, Ms. Raveena/Laveena. Only after that was a kettle provided in the room, but the room and toilet still remained uncleaned.What shocked us the most was that one of the waiters was chewing gutkha while serving food, which was extremely unhygienic.The staff was very arrogant and behaved as if we were there to serve them instead of the other way around. Their attitude towards guests was highly unprofessional and disrespectful.When we requested a room change, the staff said no rooms were available. Since only me and my daughter were travelling, the manager and staff took us for granted, gave false statements, falsely blamed us, and harassed us instead of solving the issue.We also noticed that several other families checked out the very next day after experiencing the poor services provided by the hotel.When we asked for a refund so we could shift to another hotel, they first refused and later said only Rs. 3000 instead of Rs. 4477 would be refunded after 15 days. Such behavior and service are completely unacceptable.I have also filed a complaint in the Consumer Court regarding this matter. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone but then to If anyone is planning to visit this hotel, kindly check the rooms and all amenities properly before paying the tariff amount.

It's a huge, beautiful, heritage property with both modern facilities and old world charm. Nestled a bit away from the market...hence is very serene. Food is good but is strictly veg. Alcohol is available. Has fun adventurous activities for both kids and adults. Has entertainment in the evening in the form ofKaraoke nights and a really good discotheque. Has a nice swimming pool. Overall a nice hotel and very well known in Matheran. A bit expensive but it's worth it.

Had a wonderful stay at The Byke Heritage Resort, Matheran. The property has a beautiful heritage charm with lush greenery all around. The swimming pool was refreshing, and the food was really good ’ pure veg but well prepared with a nice variety.The evening entertainment was a highlight ’ DJ Sameer Khan kept the energy alive, and the karaoke session was a lot of fun. Great place for families and friends looking for a relaxing getaway with good vibes.Would definitely recomme

The resort is an all things under one roof package! All the staff are helpful and the services were upto the mark. The food was average. The rooms were clean. The live performance was a real soothing experience for the evening! The adventure activities were also good!The swimming pool could have been cleaner. Saif at the reception was really helpful.
