The Maya Hotel

I recently visited The Maya Hotel in Jalandhar and I must say it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we entered, everything felt premium and well organized. The ambience is elegant, clean, and very comfortable, making it a perfect place for family dinners, business meetings, or even small celebrations.The highlight of my visit was definitely their buffet. In my opinion, it is the best buffet in Jalandhar. The variety of dishes available was impressive, covering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Every item was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The starters were delicious and kept coming hot and crispy. The main course had a wide selection, including rich curries, perfectly cooked breads, rice dishes, and salads. The dessert section was equally amazing with multiple sweet options that were fresh and perfectly balanced in taste.What makes it even better is the price. At just ’550 per person, the buffet is truly worth every rupee. Considering the quality, variety, and overall experience, it offers great value for money. It is rare to find such a combination of taste, quality, and affordability at one place.The service was also excellent. The staff was polite, attentive, and ensured everything was served properly. The restaurant area was clean and well maintained, adding to the overall pleasant experience.Overall, I highly recommend The Maya Hotel to anyone looking for the best buffet experience in Jalandhar. I will definitely visit again soon. Five stars without any doubt!

’’’’’ Extremely Disappointing & Unacceptable ExperienceOur stay at Maya Hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had.We stayed for a couple of nights to celebrate our son’s first birthday and Lohri, and had booked multiple rooms (5’6 rooms) along with the banquet hall. Unfortunately, from check-in to checkout, everything was handled poorly.Staff behaviour was extremely rude, arrogant, and unprofessional.Despite booking through Booking.com at confirmed prices, the staff repeatedly tried to pressure us into paying more directly at the hotel. They falsely claimed Booking.com charges extra taxes and misled us into believing we were being overcharged online ’ which was not true. In reality, the hotel was trying to charge more than the Booking.com price and kept adding extra costs for food and services without justification.Rooms & hygiene were unacceptable:’Beds were uncomfortable and unhygienic’Mattresses were dirty’Bathrooms were filthy’Overall cleanliness was extremely poor’No proper hot waterAir-conditioning was a serious issue.The rooms were unbearably hot, almost like an oven. The AC system was producing an unpleasant smell, and we were told it was ’central heating’ and could not be changed to cooling. There were no fans, no extra bedding provided despite requests, and no effort made to resolve the issue.Banquet & event management was a disaster.For a hotel hosting events, the lack of basic facilities was shocking. They did not even have a refrigerator to store our child’s birthday cake (a 2-tier, 4 kg cake). Because of this, the cake was damaged before the celebration. To make matters worse:’The cake was not properly served to guests’Leftover cake was not returned to us’Staff showed no accountability or apologyManagement behaviour was unacceptable.The front desk manager (Rajeev) behaved extremely arrogantly, as if he owned the hotel, and spoke disrespectfully. Despite us paying everything requested ’ and even paying extra out of courtesy ’ the staff continued to demand more money in a greedy and aggressive manner.We travelled from New Zealand and genuinely feel we were taken advantage of because we were overseas guests. It felt like we were being charged for every single thing simply because they assumed we wouldn’t question it.This hotel charges 5-star prices but delivers worse than 1-star service.’ Poor hygiene’ Dishonest pricing’ Rude staff’ Terrible rooms’ Zero professionalismI would strongly NOT recommend this hotel to anyone ’ especially families or international travellers. This is a genuine review based on real experience, and I regret choosing this hotel for such an important family celebration.

The service was excellent, especially by Mukesh Kumar, who was extremely polite, attentive, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout. He truly knows how to take care of guests and adds a very warm touch to the hospitality.The food was delicious, and there was a potato dish that was absolutely amazing’perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and honestly the highlight of the meal.Overall, great ambience, tasty food, and outstanding service. Highly recommended!
