The Shillong Club Ltd and RESIDENTIAL

Do Not Stay Here. Avoid at all costs.We planned to stay at the Shillong Club for two nights but ended up leaving after just one due to several issues. First, this is not a proper hotel or guesthouse. Our room was located on the first floor, right next to the event halls’including one hosting a wedding. The noise from these events continued throughout the day and night, making it difficult to relax or get any rest.My biggest concerns were related to hygiene. The overall condition of the room was unclean, with poor-quality materials used throughout. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, poorly masked by an overpowering perfume spray. The top blanket appeared unwashed, which was especially concerning. We found a match underneath the bed, probably from the previous occupant. There were visible stains, the bathroom had a persistent moldy smell, the linens were cheap, and we noticed cigarette burns along with an ashtray provided in the room.Basic amenities were also lacking. There were not enough towels or toiletries’something you'd expect at even the most modest accommodations. I recommend reviewing the attached images and video for a clearer picture of the condition.Even if you're attending an event at the Shillong Club, I would advise to stay elsewhere. Just remember, you can easily find nicer accommodations for similar price elsewhere.

Extremely expensive primitive rooms. The shower does not work , Bathrooms and Rooms are smelly inspite of very big size. House Keeping is decent and present owner spent good to give it a modern look but maintenance is zero. Plumbers are not available inspite of reminder. Very limited breakfast spread. Not worth 5000/- room single occupancy. Maximum should be 2500/- . Lots of sandals and temporary structures blocking the old views and they are eyesore.
