A Memorable Stay at Winter Stone, Upper Dharamshala (Mcleodganj)We booked our one-night stay at Winter Stone through Agoda, but the amazing atmosphere, peaceful surroundings, and warm hospitality made us extend our stay for one more day. The price was affordable, and the overall experience was truly worth it.The hotel is located at a slightly challenging height with steep roads, but this is exactly what makes the place special. If you are looking for breathtaking scenery, fresh mountain air, and a peaceful environment, you must stay at a higher location. The beautiful views make the effort completely worthwhile.All categories of rooms — Deluxe, Standard, and Super Deluxe — are beautifully maintained. We stayed in a Super Deluxe Room with a balcony view, and the view was simply amazing. The hotel also has a lovely common area with indoor games like Ludo, Chess, Carrom, musical instruments, and books, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy your time.A special mention goes to Mr. Harshit Rajput, the hotel manager. He is an amazing person who made us feel like family rather than guests. His hospitality, knowledge about the location, and understanding of tourists’ needs were exceptional. His gesture of personally coming with the house staff to attend to us was truly appreciated.The breakfast, especially the Parathas, was delicious. The tea could be improved, and the Kadhai Paneer was slightly oily, but the next day’s Butter Paneer was absolutely delicious.A few areas where the hotel management can improve:- During our two-day stay, toiletries were not available, which was a little inconvenient.- We had to request water ourselves, whereas this should ideally be taken care of by the hotel management as part of basic guest service.- A dedicated contact number for reception or staff calling assistance inside the rooms would be very helpful, as this facility was missing.One more suggestion: the hotel should improve its visibility from the taxi stand by adding more signboards or proper directions. Also, the location should be updated and made easier to find on Google Maps, as it was slightly difficult to locate.Overall, Winter Stone gave us a wonderful experience and unforgettable memories. A big thank you to Harshit Bhai and the entire team for making our stay comfortable. We hope these small suggestions will be accepted positively, and we look forward to visiting again next time with our entire family.Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful stay, amazing views, and genuine hospitality in Upper Dharamshala.
