Very disappointing experience. The staff and GM kept steering us towards Punjabi Phulkari across from the hotel and advised against going to the main market, even though the main market had a broader selection of shops, more variety, and significantly better prices for the same items. Their persistent suggestions made us wonder if there was some hidden business deal, which undermined our confidence in the hotel's recommendations.

The owner really needs to address this issue. Throughout my stay, the front office, room service, HOD, and even the GM kept directing me to shop at Punjabi Phulkari, the store opposite the hotel, instead of allowing me to visit the actual market. Later, I discovered similar products in the market at much cheaper prices. This raises serious doubts about whether there is any commission or arrangement between the hotel staff and that shop. Owner, please look into this. Your staff should maintain guests' trust, not damage the hotel's reputation by constantly steering customers to a single store.

My stay at Amrit Tara Sadka Hotel in Amritsar was very disappointing. The HOD, GM, Front Office, Room Service, and other staff kept insisting that I avoid the local market and instead shop at the Punjabi Phulkari Shop right across from the hotel. Several staff members repeatedly directed me to that same shop. Trusting their advice, I bought something there. However, I was shocked to find that items sold in the local market for about 500 rupees were priced between 3,000 and 4,000 rupees at that shop. This huge price difference was very upsetting. Even more troubling was the persistent pressure from multiple hotel staff to visit only that shop, rather than letting guests explore the market and compare prices themselves. This raises a serious concern: why are so many staff members steering guests to one particular store? Is there some commission or financial gain involved? I cannot confirm this, but the repeated recommendations and the large price gap certainly warrant investigation by the hotel owner and management. If the owner is unaware, I urge them to look into the matter internally, including the advice given by room service, HOD, front office, and other employees. Guests expect honesty and trustworthy help when staying at a hotel. Staff should not push guests to shop at one place, especially when cheaper options exist. I share this detailed review so others can be aware of my experience. If any hotel staff suggests 'Punjabi Phulkari' across the hotel, I strongly recommend checking prices and products in the local market first. This experience was very disappointing and has seriously damaged my trust in the hotel's recommendations.
