Couple • India • Oct 2026Our experience at Hotel Nexon was very disappointing. We booked a room online for three family members—one brother, one sister, and one cousin. At no point during booking or in the terms was it mentioned that a male and two female family members could be denied check-in. When we arrived around 10:30 PM, we were told we couldn't check in because we were "one boy and two girls," which supposedly violated Gujarat Police rules. This was never communicated before booking. The owner made us wait and asked me to talk to a police officer, saying someone would be sent to the hotel. After wasting a lot of time, he said we could check in if we claimed to be friends, as the issue was that one of us was a cousin. He then suggested booking two rooms, with the brother separate, charging ₹1,000 extra, which felt unreasonable since this restriction was never disclosed. We spent nearly an hour dealing with the owner and Goibibo customer care instead of simply checking in. The booking was eventually cancelled and refunded by them, but the money has not yet been credited to my account. The customer service was very poor, the experience was highly inconvenient, and the guest handling was unacceptable. Any restrictions on who can stay together should be clearly stated before accepting bookings. I strongly advise confirming all policies directly with the hotel before booking.
