LA MONTANA BY TGI

We stayed at La Montana by TGI, Ooty from July 28 to August 1 (4 nights) in a Premium Cottage, Room 102, with our 18-month-old baby. The hotel is about 30 years old and undergoing a lot of maintenance; it seemed quite empty on weekdays but was fully booked on weekends. What we appreciated: 1. The room had an excellent view – we could see the toy train from our window, which was very special. 2. Room service was good; the staff were helpful. 3. Very family-friendly for infants: they provided baby food, milk, and snacks like banana, bread, butter, and jam free upon request. 4. There was a child play area on the property, giving our toddler a nice place to play. 5. Reception staff helped arrange autos to the city center. 6. The hotel is near Lovedale railway station, one of the most beautiful stations in India and worth visiting. Breakfast / food: 1. Breakfast choices were limited. 2. Some items were very good, especially the coconut chutney – it tasted fresh and even our baby enjoyed it. 3. You can also order food via Swiggy and Zomato, which is convenient for more variety. Areas for improvement: 1. No working Wi-Fi in the room. On the first day, we were told it would be fixed within 1–2 hours, but it never worked during our stay. They said Wi-Fi was available in the reception area, but we found it unusable there as well. In 2026, a hotel like this should have reliable internet. 2. The hotel feels old and requires proper maintenance and upgrades.

The resort was fantastic and the food tasted excellent. Loved the scenery and had an overall wonderful time.

The food is tasty, the service is excellent, and the rooms are tidy.

La Montana provided excellent hospitality during our 3-day stay. Everything, including the food, was great. Nathan and Anand were very kind staff members.

The hotel's rooms were very luxurious and comfortable for everyone. There was no worry about safety or anything else. The view is beautiful. If I were to recommend a hotel in Ooty, this would be my choice. You can see everything from here, and the staff is very friendly as well.
