A/C in room not working. Lobby used as storage space for beer (large supplies). 1 Room cramped, 2 Room big, but dark, badly lit. Rickety furniture. Very noisy - bar guests dancing till midnight. Low VFM.

Stayed at Niyati Boutique Hotel in Kochi in February 2026, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.The check-in process was extremely frustrating. The receptionist on duty spoke only Hindi and had difficulty communicating in English, which made the process confusing and unnecessarily slow.There was also a basic misunderstanding about documents. I provided my Indian passport for identification, but the receptionist insisted that I must show a visa. I had to explain multiple times that as an Indian citizen traveling within India, a visa is not required, but he continued insisting. Eventually, I had to provide another identification card just to complete the check-in, which was very frustrating.Another concern was the check-in procedure itself. The staff took photos of us using his personal phone, saying it was part of the check-in policy. This felt uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially without any explanation of how the photos would be used or stored.We were five people traveling together (four women and one male friend) and had three rooms booked under my name. However, the receptionist initially insisted that I only had one booking. After a long discussion, he eventually located the other bookings and showed us the rooms.However, he assigned the wrong room for the single-occupancy booking, which was meant for our male friend. Instead, he was given a lower-category room that had a bad smell and poor Wi-Fi. We only realized this mistake the next morning after he had already spent the night there and complained about the smell and connectivity issues. The next morning another staff member acknowledged the mistake and moved him to the correct room that we had actually paid for.We also contacted the hotel owner during the check-in issue, but unfortunately no action was taken to resolve the situation at the time.Because of this experience and the lack of response from management, the situation felt very uncomfortable for our group. As women travelers, we did not feel comfortable allowing staff to enter our rooms for housekeeping after this incident, so we avoided room service during our stay.The hotel advertises that staff speak English, Hindi, and Malayalam, but this was not our experience at reception. I am originally from Kerala and can speak all three languages, yet even basic procedures were not handled properly.The only positive aspect of Niyati Boutique Hotel is that it is conveniently located. However, it is also close to a bar, so the area can be loud and noisy at night.Overall, the service and organization were far below what one would expect from a boutique hotel. Apart from the location, I would not recommend staying at Niyati Boutique Hotel, especially if you expect professional service or a smooth check-in experience.

There were cockroaches in the room!!! Multiple cockroaches!!!! Also there are huge windows with see through curtains, made us uncomfortable
