The Amar Mahal luxury boutique hotel near Fateh Sagar Lake Udaipur

Our stay at Amar Mahal Palace, Udaipur was quite disappointing. We picked this heritage property expecting a comfortable and enjoyable visit, but faced multiple problems from day one. Upon arrival, the manager kept assuring us for about 30 minutes that our luggage was on its way via the lift, but when I checked myself, the luggage was still near their office, which was a poor start and showed lack of coordination. The washrooms in our heritage room were very small and uncomfortable, and the room was quite dark. Out of four lights, two main ones near the dressing mirror didn’t work. When I complained, staff first said maybe I hadn’t switched them on properly, but later admitted the lights were faulty and couldn’t be fixed immediately. The bathroom exhaust fan was also broken, making the washroom feel suffocating. The worst part was at the restaurant. After experiencing stomach pain, I worried it might be due to the hotel food over the past two days. At lunchtime, when I tried to raise this concern, no one was available at the restaurant. I entered the kitchen without permission to check the food preparation conditions and found the hygiene very concerning and the kitchen not well maintained. Instead of calmly addressing my concern, I was confronted and asked who allowed me to enter the kitchen, being told guests cannot enter. I understand guests usually aren’t allowed in restricted areas and should have asked first, but the way it was handled felt very disrespectful and humiliating. I also spoke with the manager about food safety and hygiene, but my concerns were not properly addressed. Overall, the luggage issue, faulty lights, broken exhaust, small washroom, dark room, and especially how my food safety concern was handled made our experience far below what we expected from a heritage hotel. I share this review hoping management will take these issues seriously and improve maintenance, hygiene, staff coordination, and how genuine guest complaints are managed.

Had a wonderful time at Amar Mahal, with an excellent manager Mr. Prajjval and his team member Mr. Mordhawj Singh. Looking forward to returning.

I stayed here with my family for 4 nights in two Royal Suites, and overall we had a good experience. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with ample space to sit, relax and keep our luggage…I especially loved the little traditional touches throughout the room, be it the cute jharokha-style window seating, the beautifully painted ceilings, or the overall heritage inspired decor. It really added to the charm of the stay. The washrooms were clean and well maintained.There were a few glitches though… like Initially, one of our room’s AC wasn’t working and despite several attempts to fix it, eventually we had to change rooms in the middle of the night, which was quite a hassle, especially as we had to shift two rooms. However, the staff was very cooperative and did their best to make the shifting as smooth as possible.The breakfast, however, needs some improvement. The menu was exactly the same for all four days, including the drinks, so some variety would definitely be appreciated.Overall, a comfortable stay with nice heritage decor….

Room service is taking too much time, for simple water bottle , need to call 3-4 times at reception.ALSO IF YOU ARE GOING TO BOOK IT FROM this platform FOR EXECUTIVE ROOM, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK ROOM BEFORE CHECK IN. THEY HAVE DIFFERENT ROOM ON 1ST FLOOR AND 3RD FLOOR , IN THE NAME OF EXECUTIVE ROOM.We have booked 4 rooms, 3rd floor room is bigger then 1st floor, and they say both are executive room.NOT HAPPY. Also on this platform room has fridge but the fridge is not working in any room.

Hotel booked for 3 adults with extra bed charges but hotel didn't provide extra bed,ac was not working, hotel jointed two single bed which was terrible to sleep for two persons as well body wash stand in bathroom was broken and also not provided,next day when complained they upgraded our room , over-all we have a terribly bad experience and we feel we wasted ***rs just for two days with such cheap and poor service,I strongly do not recommend any visitor for this hotel.
