The Pod Cochin Homestay

Amazing place with an amazing owner, Mr. Joseph, who felt like a brother. He was very caring and attentive. It felt just like being at home, with the comfort of my own house. The room was very comfortable and spotless. I loved the atmosphere. My son enjoyed the tranquility of the home's balcony, spending hours there relaxing. He said the best part of our two-week trip was the peaceful feeling on the balcony. It was very quiet and serene.

Overall, it was a terrible experience. The host seemed very confused and unsure about everything, wasting our time, energy, money, and the trust we placed in him. He mentioned cooking would be possible at his homestay, but when we bought groceries and vegetables to cook, he refused. There was no maid for cleaning; when we arrived, the place smelled bad and was very dirty. He said his maid would come to clean, but I never saw her, so I had to clean myself. Despite this, he complained that it was my responsibility. Regarding cooking, he did not allow us to cook after we bought groceries, which made me sad. When I asked why he provided a cooker and allowed cooking, he told me to go somewhere else. He said this even though we booked for 10 days. Very disappointing. I think he should be clear about his plans and decisions, or else he should stop running a homestay and avoid false advertising. Don't display big positive reviews on your wall; focus on managing things properly first. I do not recommend this homestay, especially for kind and home-friendly people.

Affordable rooms that are clean and have a pleasant atmosphere. Joseph responds quickly. There is a shared kitchen on the floor equipped with basic cooking utensils. Bathrooms use a solar water system, so hot water might take some time during the rainy season. Nearby attractions such as Fort Kochi and the naval museum are easy to reach. The place offers a homely feel, and since we were the only couple on the floor this time, we enjoyed some privacy. However, this may not always be the case.
