Its my first time to Zostel , it turned into a memorable experience in my travel diary . It's really a cool place to check when you come to Ooty.
I had fantastic experience at Zostel Ooty. There were so many good people whom I interacted and cajoled with. They were all very nice and polite. I enjoyed my stay a lot. The only downside was with facilities in hostel such as hot water was not available in bathroom. One instance, electricity was not there while another instance, hot water still didn't come at all.
I booked a bed in a 4-bed dormitory, but what I was given did not feel like a proper dormitory at all. The room looked more like a storeroom converted into accommodation. There were two beds in one section, and through another door there was another small room containing the other two beds. These two spaces are apparently being presented as a single 4-bed dormitory.The condition of the room was also disappointing. The floor looked old, dirty, and poorly maintained, and the lighting was extremely inadequate. There were only two lamps in the entire room, which were the only sources of light, making the room feel dark and gloomy.The beds did not have curtains, which is a basic feature I would expect in a dormitory for privacy.The locker situation was also poor, the locker latch was very tight and difficult to use, and the slab above the lockers was visibly covered in dirt.I am sharing photos and videos with this review so that others can see the actual condition of the accommodation before booking.Overall, I am very disappointed with this experience. The room did not match what I expected from a properly maintained 4-bed dormitory, and several basic facilities and cleanliness standards were lacking.
