Ariya Nivaas - A Vegetarian Hotel

2 stars only cause the rooms need a lot of improvement. The room i stayed in was a bit stinky not sure if it was the wood work causing the stink.Bathroom was extremely stinky cause there was no ventilation at all and the exhaust was not effective either.Bathroom had a lot of fungus on the walls, WC etc.Staff were extremely courteous and hospitable but that didn't make up for the bad rooms unfortunately.Even their food was very mid, idly was a bit undercooked and the dosa was too crispy for my liking. Sambar also smelled a bit weird, not sure what it was.Anyway, I'm not visiting this place again.Not a good experience with the room for me.

We have been going to Ariya Nivas from the days they started the restaurant in 2002-03(not regularly). Car parking facilities and all are really good now. Only thing which we didnt like in the previous visit was they give really small plates for even their special dosas. It’s quite a hassle eating them without the dosa sides touching the table, and no space for keeping the chutneys too. I can understand their strategy for making their small dosa look big in appearance with the small plate. I have been to good veg restaurants all over south India(A2B, Sangeetha, Geetham, etc in chennai and all). But never have I seen such a small plate for big dosas. Either they change their food serving model like Rameswaram cafe, where they give small benne dosa with all the sides on a small plate or maintain the premium Veg restaurant standard.

I went to the restaurant there(food, not rooms). The masala dosai was ok, but the sambar and chutney were excellent. The dahi vada was very good too. The best part was the filter coffee(I got two of these).

This is a very busy and bustling restaurant, offering a variety of food options. The service is incredibly quick, although there may be some waiting time depending on the hour of day. The South Indian food is authentic and delicious. This is the go to support for tourists and locals alike. Its proximity to the train station and via stop is a definite plus point. They have started the multi level car park facility now, which is extremely helpful.

A great location close to the major hubs. Don’t go by the website photos of the hotel. Absolute crap. The house keeping lacks in their work. The receptionist is pathetic. And the hotel does not have open car parking but a Multi level car park which is operatable only between 7 am to 10 am. The restaurant attached to the hotel is quite good. The rooms are small but cozy.
