Hammock Hostels - Bandra

I’ve been staying at this hostel for almost a year, and I’ve spent a significant amount of my time here. There are several reasons why I’ve chosen to stay for so long.One of the biggest positives is the amount of open space. There are plenty of areas where you can sit, relax, work, or simply spend some quiet time. The location is another advantage, with some really nice places nearby, including the beach, which makes it easy to step out, explore, or just enjoy some time outside.The overall cleanliness of the rooms and property has generally been quite good, and this is something I appreciate. However, recently I feel a little more attention could be given to the common areas early in the morning. Since people often spend time there at night, food, wrappers, bottle caps, and other items are sometimes left behind. Occasionally, leftover food is also left around the seating areas. When you come down for breakfast early in the morning, seeing this can take away from the fresh and peaceful atmosphere that the property otherwise has the potential to offer. I remember this morning experience being better earlier, so I believe this is something that can easily be improved.Community activities do happen from time to time, but they are not very regular. For a hostel with so many travellers, having more consistent evening activities—even something simple for an hour or two—could make a big difference. It would help guests interact with each other and create a stronger community atmosphere, especially for solo travellers.Breakfast is fine for someone staying for a few days, but for long-term guests it can become repetitive because the options remain largely the same. Since I have stayed here for such a long period, I notice this more than a short-term traveller probably would. A little rotation or variety in the breakfast menu would be a welcome improvement. The tea could also be improved.Maintenance is another area where I feel quicker attention could improve the guest experience. Some issues can remain unresolved for quite a while. Even when an immediate permanent repair isn’t possible, temporary alternatives could sometimes be provided so that travellers are not inconvenienced while waiting.Overall, I have generally felt safe here, but I believe security can still be strengthened, particularly when it comes to guests’ valuables. Most travellers today carry phones, laptops, cameras, documents, or other valuable belongings. Better secure storage or locker arrangements would give guests additional peace of mind. This becomes especially important for long-term travellers because dealing with a lost valuable can take considerable time and disrupt an entire trip.I have occasionally noticed some negativity or unnecessary comments among a few long-term guests. Personally, I don’t consider this a major issue, and I can handle such situations myself. However, maintaining a positive environment is important in any shared living space. If there are repeated complaints or rumours about belongings going missing, I feel they should be handled responsibly. Genuine incidents should be taken seriously and properly addressed, while misunderstandings or unverified claims should also be managed carefully so that they do not create unnecessary anxiety among other guests.I mention these points as constructive feedback rather than criticism. After spending almost a year here, I naturally notice things that someone staying for only a few nights might not. The fact that I have continued choosing this hostel for such a long time itself says a lot about what I like about the place.Overall, this is a very good hostel with excellent potential. The open spaces, location, cleanliness, and general atmosphere are some of its strongest qualities. Overall, it was a good stay, no restrictions of time, staff was nice. Provide a small complimentary breakfast which is a good addition to have. Cleaning was also good, it can be improved but still the current cleanliness is also good. The only thing I would recommend is to have a small light at every bunk bed so that it can be helpful to be more flexible if anyone comes at odd times. Overall, it was a great stay, i can think to stay again.
