Hotel Astro Marine

Situated on Marine Drive. The room had an unpleasant odor and did not meet expectations. The hotel's entrance had a very strong bad smell that was unbearable. Also, it was quite expensive.

Our stay was unsatisfactory. The hotel charges too much for what it provides. The worst part was the strong, unpleasant odor right at the entrance. Every time my wife and I passed through the lobby, the bad smell was so intense it nearly made us sick. Sadly, the room also had a similar bad smell. There was confusion at check-in as well. When we called, we were told the price for a double AC room was ₹2,500, later lowered to ₹2,300 after bargaining. But when we arrived at 8:00 AM, we were informed we needed to pay an extra ₹500 for early check-in since the usual check-in time is 11:00 AM. The communication was unclear and could have been managed better. The bathroom was also not clean or well kept. The only good thing about this hotel is its location, with lovely backwater views at the back and Marine Drive nearby. It seems the hotel charges a premium mostly because of its location, but the room quality, cleanliness, and overall experience don't justify the cost. I wouldn't suggest this hotel unless they make major improvements in cleanliness, upkeep, and customer communication.

High rate and the facility is not Worth for the over priceA small room that is worth for below 1500 was charged over price of 2000 totaly bad room never recommended

I had booked a single room, but they upgraded me to a double room at no extra charge. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The hotel is in a prime location, and Marine Drive is within walking distance.

Not recommended... The rooms are rated highly but not worth the price. A simple room that should cost below 1500 was charged at 2000. The room is the worst for that price, with no view and limited space. They should reduce the rate to 1500 or less, which is the only price suitable for the room. Not a recommended hotel. The room price is way too high.
