Hotel Southern, New Delhi

Good rooms overall - musty smelling though. Room service was fine. Requested for WiFi multiple times only to find myself ignored by the desk staff. Food was fine with a lot of variety. Lot of honking around the hotel thanks to the market surrounding the hotel.

The room we got was suite with good and neat maintenance. As there was lots of negative review I was very scared to stay as family of 6 members among with one kid. This was very pleasant and descent hotel with very good food (masala -andhra restaurant) . I would strongly recommend for family with short trips those who don't stay in room for a long time as only drawback would be the location. Not so pleasing but it's good and budget friendly.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a very pleasant and comfortable experience. The area outside the hotel is quite busy, filled with automobile repair shops, seat-fitting garages, tyre shops, and cars parked for service. However, once you step inside the hotel, it feels completely different ’ clean, calm, and well-maintained.I had booked a Deluxe Room through MakeMyTrip, located in a separate building next to the main reception. Even though the exterior of the adjacent building looks a bit old, the room itself was excellent. It featured central AC, a comfortable bed, a TV, a work table, a western-style washroom, and two wardrobes for convenient luggage storage. The hotel also provided drinking water, tea bags, soaps, and towels.The complimentary breakfast was good and filling. They served idli, vada, fruits (papaya), beetroot juice, bread toast, upma, and a sweet item, and occasionally aloo paratha or onion uttapam. The food was fresh and satisfying.Room service is on the expensive side, so it’s better to include meals during booking if needed. I ordered all my meals through Swiggy, and nearby restaurants like Southwala, Bikanervala, Haldiram’s, Thalairaj Biryani, and Delhi Darbar were excellent.’’’ In-house RestaurantsThe hotel itself has two restaurants inside the property:Southern Masala ’ A multi-cuisine restaurant offering both South Indian and North Indian dishes. It is located near the reception area and has a wide variety of items.Hotel Aryan ’ Primarily focused on vegetarian dishes.Both restaurants are convenient if you prefer to dine within the hotel premises.’’ In-house SupermarketThere is also a supermarket inside the hotel where you can find various South Indian grocery items that are usually hard to get in Delhi. This was a very helpful addition and something you don’t find in most hotels.’’ Check-out ExperienceMy check-out experience was excellent. Although the standard check-out time was 12 PM, the hotel allowed me to stay until 2 PM (as stated in my MakeMyTrip booking) without any extra charges. After checkout, they also let me store my luggage in the cloak room for 2’3 hours free of cost, which was very convenient. I needed a photocopy of a document as well, and the hotel provided free Xerox service, which I really appreciated.’’ ConnectivityConnectivity is a major advantage of this hotel. The Jhandewalan Metro Station is just about 450 meters away, making it very easy to reach Rajiv Chowk and travel to any part of Delhi. Additionally, the famous large Hanuman Temple near Jhandewalan is close by and definitely worth a visit.’ Overall ExperienceDespite the busy surroundings outside, my stay at the hotel was comfortable, clean, well-organized, and great value for money. The facilities, helpful staff, proximity to the metro, and additional services like cloak room and supermarket made the stay very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Very nice Hotel, I stayed in Sept. 20, 2025.The rooms are good and clean. Staff behaviour is very Good.Delicious food available.Worth of booking it.
