Mountain Retreat Ooty - A Hill Country Resort

I recently stayed at this property and, unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the expectations of a 4-star hotel.The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. The rooms are reasonably spacious and offer adequate space for a comfortable stay. However, beyond these positives, there are several areas that require significant improvement.The washrooms were particularly disappointing. They are quite small for a hotel in this category and appear outdated. A refurbishment of the bathrooms would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.The service was average at best. While the staff were polite and generally helpful, the level of hospitality and attentiveness did not reflect what one would typically expect from a 4-star property.The most disappointing aspect of the stay was the breakfast buffet. The spread was extremely limited, offering very little variety from both local and international cuisines. The quality of the food was ok. Among all the hotels I have stayed in ooty, this was one of the weakest breakfast experiences.Considering the room rates being charged, the overall value for money is poor. The facilities, maintenance standards, and food quality do not justify the price point. With upgrades to the washrooms, improvements in maintenance, and a significantly better breakfast offering, the property could provide a much better guest experience.Overall, while the location and room size are positives, the hotel falls short of the standards expected, making it difficult to recommend at its current pricing

The rooms are fairly large and provide enough space for a comfortable stay. However, there are several areas needing major improvements. The bathrooms were especially disappointing; they are quite small for a hotel of this rating and look outdated. Renovating the bathrooms would greatly improve the guest experience. The service was just average. Although the staff were polite and mostly helpful, the hospitality and attentiveness were not up to the usual 4-star standard. The breakfast buffet was the biggest letdown. The selection was very limited with little variety in both local and international dishes. The food quality was acceptable but among the hotels I've stayed at in Ooty, this was one of the weakest breakfast experiences. Given the room rates, the overall value for money is poor. The facilities, upkeep, and food quality do not justify the price. With bathroom upgrades, better maintenance, and a much improved breakfast, the hotel could offer a far better stay. In summary, while the location and room size are positives, the hotel does not meet expected standards and is hard to recommend at its current price.

Terrible experience, would not suggest staying here. The complimentary breakfast was the worst I've ever encountered.

The location and service were excellent. The food could be better, but overall the experience was positive.
