Mountain Retreat Ooty - A Hill Country Resort

Decent place. Would have booked the premium valley view rooms if I had known earlier. Regular Delux Rooms without the view seem expensive. Breakfast was ok. Good car parking. Not too many amenities. But the valley view from the top is nice.

My stay at Mountain Retreat, Ooty was quite disappointing. We were in Room D4, where multiple things were malfunctioning. More troubling was the loss of money during my visit, which made the whole experience very upsetting and unacceptable. I had anticipated better security and service from this place. The room's upkeep and quality also fell short of what I expected. I strongly urge the management to investigate the problems in Room D4 and take the security issues seriously. Overall, I am very unhappy with the stay and how the situation was managed, and I would not suggest this property based on what I went through.

We recently stayed at the Mountain Retreat resort in Ooty for two nights, and we had a truly memorable experience. Right from the start, the resort’s hospitality was excellent. They seamlessly arranged our pickup from the Mettupalayam railway station directly to the property.A massive highlight of our trip was our driver, Mr. Milton, who was arranged by the resort for our local sightseeing and our return trip to the Coimbatore railway station. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all the local sightseeing spots, which helped us maximize our time. On our way back, we encountered a couple of major hurdles’a fallen eucalyptus tree blocking the main road and a local procession. Thanks to Mr. Milton’s deep familiarity with the area, he quickly navigated alternative routes and got us to the station without a single delay. His professionalism and driving skills made our trip stress-free! The resort itself is situated on beautiful terrain and offers a lovely, peaceful ambiance.We only had two minor points of feedback for improvement:The Breakfast Policy: On our arrival day, we weren't able to avail or use the morning buffet. We requested to use it on our departure day instead, but this wasn't possible. However, the staff did kindly accommodate us by packing bread and eggs for all of us for the journey.Accessibility: The terrain is gorgeous but quite steep. It is challenging for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues, as there are no ramps or golf buggies to transport guests up the slopes. While the resort did responsibly inform us about this over the phone during booking, it would be highly beneficial if this crucial detail was clearly mentioned on their website for better transparency.Overall, it is a fantastic property with a highly dedicated team. We would definitely recommend it, especially if you get a chance to tour around with Mr. Milton!

The property's location is excellent, offering a view of the entire valley. The service and food are good, and the place is well maintained. I had a pleasant stay.
