The rooms are of very low quality.

This is the worst place to stay in Chennai. A dormitory with 20 other people would be better than that pest-infested room. I suggest getting checked for infections after staying here. The staff is extremely rude and never apologizes. They demand extra money for AC rooms at check-in even if you've already paid, leading to a verbal fight. If you seem like an innocent tourist, they might ask for even more. Their Google advertisements are totally misleading. The whole building is a nightmare.

Avoid this place, it's a waste. They charge extra fees, the staff speaks poor language, and the rooms are neither good nor clean.

I recently stayed at Hotel O byOYO Everest Hotel near Chennai Central Station with my family, and sadly, our experience was quite unsatisfactory. We were first given Room 101, where the bathroom was not cleaned well, the flush was broken, and there was no water mug available. I went to the reception to ask for the flush to be fixed and a mug to be provided. Although the staff promised someone would handle it, no one showed up. Despite several follow-up calls, there was no action. After about 40 minutes, a staff member came and suggested we change rooms. We moved to Room 109, but it was in worse condition. The bathroom was clearly unclean, and the floor had cigarette butts scattered around. Because of the poor hygiene, we had to go back to Room 101. On top of that, the hotel charged us extra, and when we asked why, we were told it was because it was the weekend. The dirty conditions, bad maintenance, slow staff response, and unexplained extra fees made our stay very unpleasant. I hope the management addresses these problems and improves cleanliness and customer service.
