PROs:- Rooms were spacious and clean- Thank god there was a fan in the room. It was a saviour.- Chowrasta is walkable from the hotel.- You will love this place if you love shopping in DarjeelingCONs:- The hotel was located amidst the market place and was always crowded.- Accessibility to the hotel from the road was very narrow and through platform shops. (Most of the roads in Darjeeling were like that. Fortunately the hotel had service people to guide us to the hotel. Otherwise, there is no way you can find the hotel from the main road.)- Service in the restaurant was very bad. The lady in the restaurant carried an attitude and did not respond properly to the customers. I felt it was because we were from South India. She gave one-word responses and was responding without even looking at our face. We were forced to order food from our rooms to avoid those gestures. Even we did not like to see her face with that attitude.- We requested for drinking water and they took almost 30 min to give that.- Restaurant prices were also high

1. We booked city view room but they didn't provided.2. Washroom amenities were not provided,all were provided after asking.3. Reception Staff were not polite in night shift.Other staff were helpful.4. No curtains were provided in washroom,water was coming out of pan after flushing.5. All hotels guests were asked to go on Jai complex for dinner and breakfast due to shortage of lpg.6. After asking 3 times room heater was provided.7. Safe for family travellers.8. No light are glowing at washroom. Only needed to manage with 1 small bulb.

City view room , inside a market area only 3rd and 4th floor is the hotel, for buffet breakfast you need to go to near Sumitel Yashshree in Jai complex, which is 100-120 mtr away from this hotel, Mall Road is near but very steef road, overall very average hotel

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Sumitel Darjeeling during our visit to Darjeeling on 24th March 2026. Traveling as two families with kids, we booked a family room for one family and a double bed room for the other’and both turned out to be excellent choices. The family room was incredibly spacious, comfortable, and the highlight was the breathtaking view of the majestic Kanchenjunga right from our window. Waking up to that view felt truly magical.The housekeeping was very efficient, and everything was kept neat and well-maintained throughout our stay. Although the price was slightly on the higher side, the exceptional service more than made up for it. The staff were warm, polite, and always ready to help, which made our experience even more special.While the restaurant isn’t inside the hotel, it’s very conveniently located just near Gorkha Market. Breakfast was served at Yashshree Jai Hotel and Banquet, just a few steps away, and it was complimentary. The breakfast spread was delicious and especially comforting for those who prefer a good, wholesome meal early in the morning’particularly after trying out different foods around Mall Road.We stayed for 4 days, and it was a delightful experience throughout. The location is perfect’step outside and you’re right in the middle of a lively market with plenty of woollen clothes, local goodies, and eateries. Mall Road is just a pleasant 10-minute walk away.Darjeeling itself has a charm that’s hard to put into words’the cool mountain air, the scenic views, and the peaceful vibe make it a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Our kids had an amazing time, and so did we.Highly recommended for families looking for comfort, convenience, and a memorable mountain stay!
