The room was very dirty and obviously not cleaned well before I arrived. The bed sheets and pillows were dirty, making my stay quite uncomfortable. The bathroom was worse—I discovered a used condom in the toilet, which is totally unacceptable and shows poor hygiene and housekeeping. Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone.

Terrible experience! Avoid booking this hotel! I reserved a room at Hotel Townhouse Prayagraj, near the railway station, previously known as Santosh Palace, for two days via Agoda and paid in full upfront. Upon arrival, the room was in a disgusting state—very unhygienic, filthy, and reeking of a foul odor. The walls were stained with paan/gutka spit marks, and the bathroom smelled strongly of urine, worse than a public restroom. The AC leaked, mosquitoes were present, and power outages were frequent. Walls showed seepage, and ceiling plaster kept falling. It was not only dirty but also unsafe to stay there. Since I had prepaid, I asked for a room change. They showed me two or three rooms, all in similar poor condition. Even after requesting cleaning, the rooms still smelled bad. They didn't provide a water bottle when asked and lacked basic items like a kettle, slippers, or cups. They only gave a small soap and towel upon request. After an hour, unable to endure the stench, I asked the manager to cancel and refund my booking. The manager said cancellation wasn't possible on their side and suggested I find another place if I disliked the hotel. When I insisted, they told me to cancel via Agoda. I reported everything to Agoda, who quickly acted. Agoda tried to get OYO (partnered with the hotel) to cancel, but they refused and instead offered to move me to another hotel, Raj Continental, owned by the same person, Mr. Aditya Maurya. I accepted, but that hotel was only marginally better and did not meet the advertised standards. I had to settle for it since it was late. The problem stems from the partnership between Agoda, OYO, and the hotel owner, where no one takes full responsibility for property upkeep, causing customer distress. While Agoda and OYO responded and agreed to help, the hotel manager refused to listen or take responsibility for the poor service.
