The Cliff Edge Coorg

The resort is a good stay in terms of food, rooms, the view and staff. I loved their breakfast with a view option. Food is good. Service is great. They changed our blanket late at night when we requested. However, the concern is the location. Our plans were limited in Coorg because the road to entry in this resort was very secluded, without lights or any proper road. It's located on a very secluded place which makes it difficult for travellers to roam around in the evening after sunset. So we had to stay back at the resort after sunset, even though we wanted to go out.

Every attentive customer service and food from the menu was excellent. The area to improve is maintenance of the facility.

The check in was smooth. The lady at reception was very courteous and she gave the usefull and relevant information.Clean room, clean bed and clean furnishing and very clean bathroom.Drinking water was provided in glass bottles (not single use bottles). It was purified water from their in house plant. Which we appreciated, as a contribution towards clean environment and swachch bharat mission!Very nice balcony facing westwards. Though in the evenings there is cloud cover , so the decision to take a 2nd /3rd floor room may be accordingly weighed with the choice of first floor room. The actual sun set may not be visible due to clouds, from any of the floors!Nice breakfast with both North and South Indian menu, besides fresh fruits ,eggs to order and bread. The coffee was really good. The staff at buffet breakfast counter was courteous and pleasantly providing and looking after all the guests. Nice view of the green jungle from the large glass walls of the dining area. The split AC in the room was not cooling properly. (We did not lodge a complaint). The walls had some stains due to spilling of some liquid, near the power socket due to use of electric kettle, but still, the walls were clean. They have a parking (open /uncovered)at roof level, for which access is from the approach road before reaching the reception area at ground level! Then you can further drive down the steep sloping road to reach the parking available at basement level. Though parking here can be tricky due to large wide pillars with tight parking space in between.Over-all, if you have your own car ,then opt for this hotel. Raja's Seat and Omkareshwar temple are very near, but not walkable! In the evening after sunset, the rooftop had misty clouds passing through the shed and they have placed some dim lights for security. No seating is available at rooftop. The cool breeze/wind was rather strong and gave the chills!A lift is available, which is very convenient. Though it needs a deep clean now.Overall a memorable stay! Thanks, we will come again.
