Act of Kindness: Air India Plans Relief Flights to Ferry Expats From Mumbai

Due to the lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak, national carrier Air India is all set to operate nine relief flights next week to Frankfurt to ferry several expats stranded in Mumbai.



Note: Air India is expected to deploy Boeing 777 and 787-8 (Dreamliner) between 31st March and 3rd April.

“While five flights may be operated on March 31, two services are planned for April 2. One flight each is expected to operate on April 1 and April 3, respectively,” a source said.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus, Air India has operated several rescue flights to bring back Indians stuck in various countries such as Italy (Milan and Rome), China (Wuhan) and Japan.

On Thursday, Air India operated a flight to Tel Aviv, Israel, for transporting 300 Israelis from India.
