FabHotel Harma Residency - near Velachery Railway station

This hotel does not match its online portrayal at all. The photos shown when booking are very different from the actual state of the rooms. What I encountered was far below even a basic 2-star level. The reception was the worst part. When I arrived with luggage, before checking my reservation, the receptionist immediately claimed no rooms were available and told me to cancel the booking myself on Agoda, despite my prepaid confirmed reservation. Only after I showed my booking details did he suddenly find a room. The room was very disappointing: dirty and poorly maintained bathroom fixtures, a broken and unsanitary toilet seat, dusty surroundings with exposed wires and an old TV box, stains and dirt near the AC and walls, and overall neglected upkeep and cleanliness. To add to the discomfort, I saw a lizard inside the room and pigeons nesting near the bathroom exhaust, making the stay feel even more unhygienic. I know budget hotels aren’t fancy, but basic cleanliness, professionalism, and honesty should be present. This place advertises itself much better online than what guests actually get. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have no other choice in an emergency.

The most terrible experience I've had.

I arrived without a reservation and checked out the room first. Despite some flaws, I was happy and booked online. However, at check-in, I was denied! This was a first for me. It wasn't the third party's issue—the owner simply changed his mind, leaving me stuck handling the refund and searching for another accommodation.
