Hotel Charring Cross

I have been to Hotel Charring Cross with my parents this May 2026. The three sirs at the reception (Pardon me I do not know their names) are always helpful, and cordial. Their hospitality has left a lasting impression for my parents and me during our trip to Ooty. I am very grateful to have selected this hotel. It is centrally located in the Charring Cross Market, 5 minutes away from the Botanical garden and 3 minutes away from the Moddys cafe, their tea and hot chocolate is the best. One thing to note about the hotel is that it has only a flight of stairs that leads to the rooms in series 1, 2 and 3, and stairs leading to the reception lobby. So if you have knee joint issues or any difficulty climbing stairs, then note that. Otherwise, it is a wonderful hotel for everyone.

In May 2026, I visited Hotel Charring Cross with my parents. The three gentlemen at the reception (sorry, I don't know their names) were always friendly and helpful. Their warm hospitality made a strong impression on my parents and me during our stay in Ooty. I'm very happy I chose this hotel. It's conveniently located in the Charring Cross Market, just 5 minutes from the Botanical Garden and 3 minutes from Moddys cafe, where their tea and hot chocolate are excellent. One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel has only stairs leading to the rooms in series 1, 2, and 3, as well as stairs to the reception lobby. So, if you have knee problems or difficulty with stairs, be aware of this. Otherwise, it's a great hotel for everyone.

The hotel is very poor quality considering the price; it feels very cheap.

To my experience, it was extremely great. We as a family of 4 members pre booked for a stay at Charring cross hotel, ooty.Stayed there for 2 nights with family, we thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, room was very neat & clean, room service was good, reception staffs were very kind & polite, the owners of Charring cross was very polite & humble. Actually the checkout was 11am in the morning, we checkedout & went for visiting other spots and we came back to take our luggage,the bus was 7.45pm. we dont have any idea that time, the owners of this restaurant told us get fresh up in the same room we stayed and told us rest there till our bus timings, which was appreciable & i dont think so any other hotel they will do the same.but here they taken care of us really well & good.highly recommended ’’’’’’

In my experience, it was truly wonderful. Our family of four had pre-booked a stay at Charring Cross Hotel in Ooty. We stayed there for two nights and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The room was very clean and tidy, room service was good, and the reception staff were kind and polite. The owners of Charring Cross were very humble and courteous. Although checkout was at 11 am, after checking out and visiting other places, we returned to collect our luggage for a 7:45 pm bus. We had no idea what to do at that time, but the owners kindly allowed us to freshen up and rest in the same room until our bus departure, which was very thoughtful. I don't think many other hotels would offer this. They took great care of us, and I highly recommend this place 😊💯❤️🥰
