Hotel Charring Cross

Great hotel and conveniently located near all destinations

I stayed there on Dec 24 with four others, booking two rooms. The location was convenient, close to the market and Commercial Road, which has good restaurants. There is also a restaurant inside the hotel, but we didn't try it. The Botanical Garden was within walking distance. Nearby markets offered chocolates, clothes, spices, and more. The rooms were decent but somewhat small compared to other places. The booking site stated that an extra mattress would be provided, but when we arrived, there was none. After a long wait and request, they finally gave us the mattress and later the bedsheet as well, which should have been standard. The geyser was faulty, leaking water continuously. We reported this to reception, but no action was taken. We were unhappy with the service overall. I wouldn't recommend this place for families. Solo travelers or couples without other options might consider it, but otherwise, it's not recommended.

Nice hotels in Ooty located at Charing Cross with convenient access to everything in the Ooty center.

Okish place. Costly for what they provide. Road traffic sounds are harsh sometimes. The rooms doesn't have fan to shoo away the mosquitos. The beds are ok, there could be leaks from the geaser or taps , water initially could be muddy so please be cautious!!
