Hotel Saba Haveli

This must be one of the most charming places we've ever stayed at. The building is a 300-year-old haveli, later enhanced by Samuel Swinton Jacob in the 19th century. The owners have restored 11 rooms so far. We stayed in room 111, which featured stained glass above the windows, a beautiful tiled floor, period furniture, and Indian-style lighting. Staying in this room made us feel special and allowed us to imagine the haveli's luxurious past. The bed was huge, and the bathroom was spacious with both a bath and shower. The room also included tea-making facilities and a fridge. DJ, whose family owns the hotel, offers a free tour explaining the building's history—definitely take him up on it. He is charming and provides great advice on places to visit in Jaipur. They even have their great-great-grandparents' 1933 Ford Cabriolet gathering dust in the garage, which really evokes a bygone era. Breakfast in the courtyard was delicious, with both continental and Indian options, plus freshly made coffee. Dinner on the roof offered views over the hills and forts under the stars—truly magical. The aubergine masala was incredible, and the layered paratha was fresh and tasty. The staff were excellent and friendly, especially Dhan Singh, who seemed available around the clock to help. The location is great; we walked back from the City Palace in 25 minutes, though a tuk-tuk or Uber is easy too. This unique heritage hotel gives discerning travelers a real insight into Jaipur's haveli history. The family has taken great pride in preserving the building for future generations. Stay here—you won't regret it!

Das Hotel ist ein altes Haveli mit sehr großen Zimmern und einem außergewöhnlichen Bad. Ich habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Besonders gefallen hat mir die Dachterrasse, von der aus man den Sonnenauf- und -untergang beobachten kann. Dort habe ich auch meinen Willkommens-Tee genossen. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Ich habe sowohl das Abendessen bestellt als auch das Frühstück eingenommen, beides war sehr gut, das Abendessen sogar ausgezeichnet. Ich habe nichts auszusetzen. Zur Lage kann ich nicht viel sagen, da ich abgeholt wurde, aber ich bin nach Sonnenuntergang etwas durch die Straßen gelaufen und habe mich sicher gefühlt. Der Manager war ebenfalls sehr nett. Ich kann das Hotel klar empfehlen!

Our stay at Saba Haveli was exceptional. The property is stunning, rich in character, and offers a serene, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. The staff provided impeccable service, attentive, warm, and genuinely thoughtful throughout our stay. Our room was remarkably spacious and beautifully maintained, offering a level of comfort rarely found. The traditional design, combined with meticulous cleanliness, added a sense of timeless elegance to the experience. We were also fortunate to enjoy a private tour of the haveli with the owner, which highlighted the extraordinary care taken in preserving the building through traditional restoration techniques, a truly fascinating insight. The property also connected us with Rajveer, an excellent local private guide who organised and accompanied us on our visits around the city, as well as arranging seamless taxi transfers between cities. His knowledge, professionalism, and warmth greatly enriched our experience and made travelling effortless. The cuisine was excellent, with particularly generous and delicious breakfasts, and the overall hospitality made our time in Jaipur unforgettable. Saba Haveli is a true hidden gem in the heart of the city, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic yet luxurious stay. We would gladly return.
