The Grand Magrath Hotel

My stay at this hotel was nothing short of disappointing. The moment you step into the property, you’re greeted not by a welcoming atmosphere but by an unpleasant, stale odor that immediately sets a negative tone. The lobby and common areas appear poorly maintained and give off a shabby, almost neglected impression. Unfortunately, this wasn’t just a passing issue — the same musty smell carried into my room and lingered throughout my stay, making it very uncomfortable to relax or even spend time inside.The overall upkeep of the place leaves much to be desired. Furniture and fittings seem dated, cleanliness standards are clearly not up to the mark, and there’s a general sense that the hotel has been running without proper care or attention for quite some time. For the price charged, I expected at least a basic level of freshness, hygiene, and maintenance, none of which were met.I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was far below expectations. I sincerely hope the management takes these issues seriously and invests some effort into improving the cleanliness, upkeep, and overall guest experience.

The road to the hotel is currently under construction (as of 31 Oct 2025), but doesn't create any challenges for people trying to get there. Service is amazing, and the staff were polite and respectful. Enjoyed my time there!

Highly disappointing experience at Grand Magrath. The rooms were filled with a foul stench that made our stay unbearable. Even after a change, the issue persisted. The hotel management refused to cooperate with Agoda for a refund. Breakfast was below par, and continuous drilling noises every morning made relaxation impossible.To make matters worse, a staff member entered our room at 2:30 a.m. ’ absolutely shocking! This hotel needs serious management overhaul and attention to hygiene and safety. Definitely not recommended.

An absolutely unpleasant and disturbing stay. The rooms had a strong foul stench, and even after multiple complaints, the staff only masked it with overpowering fresheners ’ the smell returned within hours. Despite a two-night booking, our refund request was conveniently tossed to Agoda, and the hotel management never responded to Agoda’s attempts to contact them. Breakfast was horrible, the property run-down, and constant construction noise added to the misery.The worst part , a room boy tried to open our door at 2:30 a.m. and even entered, causing sheer panic and sleeplessness. This property is poorly managed, unhygienic, and unsafe.Avoid at all costs.

Never again! The Grand Magrath Hotel is a disaster disguised as a 4-star property. The rooms reek of foul odour, and even after a change, the stench returned stronger. Staff bombarded the room with artificial sprays instead of fixing the root cause. Breakfast was pathetic, with construction noise every morning.The most horrifying part? A staff member opened our room door at 2:30 a.m. without permission. Utterly unacceptable and unsafe! When we tried to cancel through Agoda, the hotel simply ignored their communication. A nightmare experience from start to finish.
